Ok, I hope this isn't gonna start some big debate or anything but I'm looking to find out which of the many Caracas recordings sound the best. I'm ignoring video because let's face it, the quality of the footage is dire and since the master tape has allegedly been destroyed, it's unlikely to get better.
Here are just some of the many versions of the concert (from Bokkepoot's Excel: link link link link link
Would really like to know as I'm not an audio expert. :)
Many thanks!

Kurgan's transfer was probably the best as it didn't have the hiss (anyway it's still not perfect).
Few attempts to improve the audio: link link link
Would you be interested in any audio processed like that?
So, I can't copy or do anything with my Kurgan's audio copy (most likely because of bad sectors). Do you have your copy or should I work on audio taken from sikke's transfer?
Soo this is a quick comparison of audio included in sikke's/pittek's version at 0-12s, then there is audio from "small upgrade" version (that over brightened one) and at 0:44 my version which came from Kurgan's transfer. I wonder if the second one isn't the best to work on.
I processed also "small upgrade" version and it has more hiss difficult to reduce. So I decided to stay with Kurgan's one.
I equalized a bit and reduced the hiss - no noise removal effects, I just looked at frequency where there's no more music and cut it off (so it won't distort the audio). Then I put an echo filter on both channels and a reverb - these two will make it sound more natural, not so flat like it is. link
I hope it won't the file won't be damaged.
