...the artist. But any collaborator with Queen *can* be replaced. Including Adam Lambert. It happened with Paul Rodgers. That's just the nature of the game. It's neither Adam's fault, nor is it Brian or Roger's. The void filled by Freddie made it this way. Discuss. |

Next year you can see Marc Martel in Queen Extravaganza but it won’t be with Brian and Roger! |

I wonder if Lambert has ever been asked " how long does he plan to tour with Queen"? Ha. |
matt z 25.12.2017 23:00 |
Like it or not. I believe he's going to be recording with the guys. I think it'll be cool. It'll allow for some of Brian's songwriting to come forth and some of Roger's input (*LET'S HOPE) to prevent it from being stale. I wish John would pick up his bass again for something even if it's recording with another artist. He's such an amazingly melodic bass player. Seems like a genuine guy as well. I guess it's that time to try to shake up the Glamberts....but really. I don't think they're leaving the Adam Lambert train. He did well this last tour. I just wish they kept the NOTW songs in the list |
GrowUpGlamberts 25.12.2017 23:52 |
I agree with most of what's written here. Q+AL is good for what it is, and that's about it. To make comparisons between them and the original band is fruitless; Freddie (and Jagger, Plant, Axl, et al.) was one of a kind and I can't think of many lead vocalists who can be judged against his overall showmanship. Adam couldn't even shine his shoes in that regard; leading a rock group, he's got the charisma of a damp rag. But I concede that he is fine at what he does, as was Paul Rodgers. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but you can't please everyone. What I don't understand is the need to bring up QEX in here. People see QEX to see QEX, not Queen or Queen + AL. Same thing with Queen + AL -- I wouldn't have paid the cold hard cash I earned to see them if I thought they are some kind of lousy tribute band (and I have seen them live twice). I'd go to see QEX if I wanted to hear a singer that was more capable of singing these songs live than most others, Adam included. But to compare the two is unnecessary, no? |
matt z 26.12.2017 00:40 |
^no. OP's valid point is that at some avenue. ..QEX is basically better than the real remainder Especially if they're trudging the same worn setlist. People like me go to see Brian May and Roger Taylor. ...the ROCK STARS. ...not the safety of a selected easy performance. Rock and roll means warts..playing something pff the cuff. Doesn't happen much in this situation so if you want to see old novelty. ..why not see qex |
Liliane 26.12.2017 05:22 |
Interesting discussion. Even though OP is technically right that Adam is replaceable as a collaborator of Queen, I don't think it is going to happen. Not at this point and B & R have already said so. Unfortunately, Brian is 70 and Roger is 68 now and it took them about 20 years to find two people they were willing to play with, whom they think can do the songs justice. Even though, Adam is not technically a part of Queen, they have been treating him as family. The guys seem to love and respect each other as people. They also seem to have a lot of fun together. I think QAL is pretty much the epilogue of Queen's story. And I am also afraid that this might be their last tour. I am hoping some of you are right and that we end up having a QAL album or at the least a single. Brian and Roger are so talented as songwriters that I think it is a real shame that they have not written as Queen since TCR. It would be very interesting to see what QAL could come up with. |
Liliane 26.12.2017 05:31 |
GrowUpGlamberts: I agree with you that Freddie was a once in a lifetime type of artist, very commanding and charismatic on stage. Adam has a different type of charisma. He has more of a witty, friendly, approachable vibe...They are men of different times. To each their own I guess. Who among the new generation of rock stars, do you think has charisma? |

Vocal harmony 28.12.2017 16:01 |
Caroline go and listen to Diamanda Galas, her vocal range makes Lambert sound like a donkey, in both lower and higher range she far exceeds what he can do. Holding long notes, mark of a true singer is it? Oh and she can play the piano really quite well with a unique style, that's a musical instrument you know? Something Adam has no concept of. Even those of us who thought Lambert was a good choice or were willing to give him a chance have probably had enough of him because of your relentlessly stupid posts |
SweetCaroline 28.12.2017 17:06 |
Why is it stupid to brag about Adam’s magnificent talent? Is that lady YOU brag about going to replace Adam on the next leg of the Queen tour? |

SweetCaroline wrote: Why is it stupid to brag about Adam’s magnificent talent? Is that lady YOU brag about going to replace Adam on the next leg of the Queen tour?Well how many times do you have to keep posting links about what someone has said about him, or links showing him sing or inks about how magnificent he looks in pink etc etc and on and on when all your doing is trying to prove something to A: those who know already what he's capable of and have a more realistic view than yours. B: have no interest, don't like him or don't rate him to which no amount of your posting links will ever change their opinion. I've brought up one artist as an illustration without multiple posts and links just to make you aware that in music, as with most of life, there is always someone who can stretch bounderies further than someone else. Diamanda Galas like many singers has no interest in Queen let alone fronting them so forget that argument. And like many artists has had a long and very successful career, in her case as a singer, pianist, song writer, poet and writer. Mr Lambert doesn't come close in ability or achievement . . . But you carry on trying to prove one thing that can't be proved, if nothing else it's amusing. |

Vocal harmony wrote: Caroline simple Question Are you capable of interacting on the the same level as other people and actually contributing to a discussion? No, she's not. Why do you think she relies so heavily on glowing tweets, articles etc. Her only thought about Q+AL is that it is magnificent...it used to be spectacular. That's her only orginal thought about it all. Oh well, I'm sure she will do the same on QOL, because her ban will will be over on the 31st. Her ban that she blames me for. I'm sure she won't be able to help herself but to go back and haven't learned a thing about her behavior...easier to blame me for her ban. |

You don't have an original thought in your head other than it's magnificent. Three times with the same link to the same video for crying out loud. Did you even realize those links are exactly the same? You might think you are bragging. Yes you are, and you are awfully pushy when it comes to Q+AL. And it's all done to promote AL. I don't think you even care about the reality of it all, because you pick arguments with people who don't share your views. You went so far recently as to post a private picture from a private account, when AL wasn't even being public. That was terrible, what were you trying to do with that? Proof you won't and can't stop at nothing to promote and push the guy, and you have absolutely no boundaries when it comes to him. It's unsettling. |

SweetCaroline wrote: I have never heard of Diamanda! Should I have? You could at least give the music a go, I have, I like it a lot. Then again, even if you did give it a go, I'm sure you will say Brian and Roger haven't asked Diamanda to tour. Your mind is already made up for other artists who aren't AL. You are filled with rants about other artists who do more than AL, you are also filled with envy if another artist sells, has awards, whatever AL hasn't. And you make it clear you live in an AL bubble. You will never learn or accept certain things, your butthurt on AL's behalf is desperate AF. |

There are a lot of people who still do no know what Adam can do: “Adam Lambert - Time for Miracles (Official Video) youtu.be/Wgph1GcFzzo via @YouTube” “I do not show my emotions, it's not in my habits. This song is immensely beautiful. I admit to being seduced by the singer, I do not know the man outside the image he wants to show, but it must be really remarkable to sing such beautiful things. @adamlambert” |

Who wrote post a preteen? Egads. Where do you find such crap and why even bother to post such crap here? In the hopes of making people AL fans? Things like that are extremely off putting and distasteful. Especially on a Queen forum. Somehow, someway you have taken on yourself to be the one who can say and 'prove' what AL can do as if your opinion is the be all and end all. What are you doing now, copying and pasting YouTube comments? Give that crap up already, you are not convincing anyone by being so bull headed and stupid. You can't even discuss much of anything without saying it's magnificent, and using other people's words often to back you up, and try to big up AL and to get him more fans. You aren't helping him or the Glambert fan base it they way you are going on about it. Sad thing is, you actually think you are doing it support him. And funny thing is, even AL doesn't give TwoFux about being defended, he has made that clear. See ya on QOL in a couple days time. I know you will go back, and it will be the same old, same old. |
