Since an anthology to wrap up the queen material locked in the vaults seems like will never happen is this whole 40th anniversary reissuing and the recent News Of The World box set what we are gonna get on the 40th anniversary of each album ? I personally would like to hear Freddie’s voice in surprising and unknown takes. The All dead,All dead sends a shiver down my spine it’s quite haunting especially considering the subject matter. I’d love if future albums could be given this treatment as would love to hear the all Freddie vocal on who wants to live forever. Though some years away the next album in sequence would be jazz. Hope Freddie sings rock it prime jive like the way he put his personal touch to sleeping on the sidewalk. I could go on all night but I’ll leave it there. As Freddie said in innuendo What ever will be. Will be |

Unlikely, but of course it'd be great if they did. Hopefully, the accompanying book (if any) could have more quality control for that one... otherwise, expect photos from The Game tour to pop up there. |

It would be nice if they let CMatt remix and remaster the material. Otherwise, without that happening. I really doubt there will be any fanfare about jazz 40. The tour was great....but everything else would be derided in this day and age. Overblown as sexist and misogynist. .... But hey you can't spell Misogynist without Gyn. So it can't be all that bad, right feminazis? (*comment directed towards feminazis and not feminists; feminists wouldn't spend time with such trivial matters) |

No, they’ll release Wembley . Just one more time. |

Waiting for an Innuendo Boxset, with all the demos, videos, photo's, making offs, interviews, launchparty.. I know the videos are not the best of Freddie, but its one of the best recordings! |

I really doubt it, Jazz was a relative flop compared to previous albums. ADATR did not have his 40th birthday version and was a far more successful album (but had ANATO before to his disavantage...). The next one will certainly be The Game. |
Rick 25.11.2017 10:09 |
The Game. With another Montreal version, of course. With the long lost bass drum track of Love of My Life!!! |

Well, Jazz could extremely benefit if they'd decide to make a new mix of the whole album.... add something like "Raw sessions" we got (yes, I know it's cut & paste) and then it'd be something. I know people are a little tired of the 1982-1986 era but there wasn't a proper release commemorating The Works tour. Imagine the opening Brussels gig released even synced to soundboard.... and the expanded CD! Man On Fire (Freddie's version), There Must Be More To Life Than This (The Works recording sessions version), the first "rejected" take of Let Me In Your Heart Again, the new mix of Man Made Paradise and many more! |

What you do not like in Jazz mix? |

It's kinda flat, maybe it was the trend at the time or maybe the band felt that this is the sound they want for the whole album but everything (instruments) sound like they don't have the room to resonate good enough. Of course there is also the question how were the instruments recorded back in the day. If the percussion was originally recorded like that then.... it would be next to highly difficult to change it. I wrote "new mix" I don't want for them to go all Melodyne and other "studio wonder tools" for that kind of project if they'd choose Jazz as the next anniversary edition. |
MackMantilla 27.11.2017 14:55 |
I hope they get to release an anniversary edition of "The works" with all the songs they worked but didn't finally made the album... |
Sebastian 27.11.2017 16:49 |
LOL - hope for the best, expect The Works ... I mean, the worst :p |

And the drum sound is awful. Compare it to the previous few albums. Jazz is the first album where Queen are out in the weeds. Their finances have been sorted out, and they are no longer hungry. It's an all too common story in the music business. The best music usually comes when your back is up against the wall, not when you're comfortable. |

And the news from Convention is "No". |

Not surprising :) |

I read that title about 3 times before I realised it wasn't a new press release. For what it's worth, Jazz is one of my absolute favs. No issues with it here apart from maybe 2 songs too long. |
Bob Harley 09.10.2018 16:51 |
it would be like CD1: 2011 remastered version CD2: Instrumentals/backing tracks (what's the difference?) CD3: Songs from Jazz but Montreal 1981, Milton Keynes Bowl 1982, Wembley 1986 (ANYTHING that was previously released) Price: as high as possible |
dysan 09.10.2018 18:03 |
Jazz was one of the better 2011 reissues. A good mix of a single edit, instrumental, live track, and 'raw' takes. Not forgetting the bass drum fix on Jealously. It felt a more 'complete' package to me. |
brians wig 09.10.2018 18:45 |
Would have been better if it had had Fun It with Roger's vocals all the way through and the alternate lyric version of If You Can't Beat Them. Guess they're holding those back for a future release that will only be available to fans who haven't been born yet.... |
dysan 09.10.2018 19:05 |
Well, yeah, but then you could say all the 2011 reissues were a bit short on content. |
Dr Magus 10.10.2018 15:15 |
It was cheeky having a second disc since they'd have all so easily fit on one cd. Bit of an insult really. |
dysan 10.10.2018 15:25 |
Totes. But made sense in a way - album plus bonus. Also meant no remastering once they issued the albums with no bonuses. |

There used to be a cool Jazz t-shirt in about 2008 that featured heavily in Primeval on UK TV. I think it was a TopShop one? Haven't been able to find it since. The design was too big and spilled over the edges. Looked great. |

The coin would be more attractive with an ancient roman text: IMPERATOR BRIANVS AVGVSTVS MAXIMVS INVICTVS PATER REGINAE CENSOR PERPETVVS |
