Re-cut of LP is fantastic. Bob Ludwig 2011...pointless. CD2 is awesome (nothing sounds the same and there's lots of surprises) and CD3 is just filler, barring the instrumentals. I've not watched the DVD yet, but I'm guessing it's what was on the BBC a couple of weeks ago. Presentation is lovely, the extras are nice. Was £110 from HMV, but it didn't cost me as I was given the money to buy it for my birthday :) |

It's 2005. Some guy says he has a complete alternative version of News Of The World, including a live version of Sleeping On The Sidewalk. It's $200. Do you want it? It's all perfect studio quality. I'll tell you, after hearing it just now, I would have gladly paid that. Spread Your Wings might be worth the price alone. Freddie's vocals are extraordinary. Tears of joy inducing extraordinary. |

For anyone in the US who hasn't ordered the set yet and might be interested, I just found a great price for it at ImportCDs.com. As I write this, they're asking 108.99 for the set. But, when you put the item in your basket and enter the promo code of TAKE10, it will take 10% off the box meaning you'll pay just over $100 for the box with shipping! |

Just watched the unboxing video and I must say that it looks awesome! Unfortunately, I'm still waiting to receive my boxset and then I have to wait until December 5th that I'm allowed to unpack it. The unboxing video raised one question with me: The posters that are included, were the part of the original presskit or are they extra with the boxset? One of them specifically mentions an advertisement of the Houston show. Probably wishfull thinking, but can this be a hint for a very soon to be release? |

Minor bummer, but still bummer: the Queen News of the World 4-pg "newspaper" release is flawed. In the centerfold with the 4 solo headshots - only Brian May's has his bio underneath. The other 3 don't have their bios, as they were in the original - there are only white spaces under their photos. It's included in the 40 Years of Queen book, where at least it's correct. Why is it off in the $150 NOTW box set??? |

Maybe John was the quality checker in the band. This reminded me of an interview from 1985, where John indicates that he doesn't like expensive box sets. Maybe this release would have also been more reasonably priced, if he was still involved: As with almost every decision made within Queen, the discussions over Live Aid provoked a row. Deacon is casual about it -- "we've been rowing since the year dot". "We were doing some filming for the new video, right, and after that there was this enormous row going on between Freddie and Roger. We're doing a boxed set this Christmas of all the albums, right? And they were arguing about whether the new single should be in it. Someone was saying that it has got to be in there because it won't be the complete works if it's not..." He shakes his head, with a smile. "I couldn't really get involved in that because I thought, well, who's going to buy that? Obviously they'll sell a few to collectors but it's going to be a very expensive item. Forty or fifty quid or something..." |

The folk who've asked for a share have all stated they're getting the set for xmas, or a little further down the line. The sessions haven't been put on iTunes/Spotify etc, and so there's no harm in them being a little excited and asking to hear it sooner. Telling them to get a life and a job is harsh. I'd have shared privately had I a way of ripping the CD, but my laptop's player is down at the moment. I know guys like Ale and Stu will be getting the set later on, so QPL are not being robbed of cash. For what it's worth, Ale in particular has spent hundreds of hours creating and sharing artwork for live shares posted here, and has shared lots of material too. I wonder how much you've benefited from all the shares on QZ, without people telling you you're a freeloader with no life. |

When the printing error was recognised in the NOTW box set, QOL stated it was only a “small” number of boxes affected. Now QPL states “The process is a manual one and due to the number of fans who have been in contact, this is taking more time than expected”. So...if they could state originally only a “small” number of affected sets then presumably they knew how many, yet now the number of fans wanting their sets corrected is more than expected?!? Another case of QPL bullshit..... |

The fact they want a proof of purchase is ridiculous. A lot of people got these as gifts for Christmas. For the sake of a 2p print and considering the profit they made on this, I find it all laughably embarrassing to say the least. |

Because it will come up first in the Queen section as the latest release and new people will think WTF is this unfinished shit? When Spotify first started the entire Queen section was all those bootleg gigs from the 100 Concerts drive. Not great for the casual punter. |
