I always thought Adam Brand would of made a fairly close resemblance to Freddie in terms of features? |

Does the hair look strange to anyone else? |

Makka wrote: I always thought Adam Brand would of made a fairly close resemblance to Freddie in terms of features? The country singer? (I just had to Google that name). I wouldn't say he's fairly close, plus, he's got no experience at acting. |

I just realised there's a poster for the INXS album Listen Like Thieves in the window behind him in that photo. So that's supposed to be around late 1985 (that album was released in October), if they're being accurate about it the months. Mr Bad Guy is also behind the window, but that was released in April. |
matt z 09.11.2017 06:07 |
Alright. I gave up and clicked. Sorry. But this is just starting to seem more and more ridiculous. I'm thinking this'll be an instant Razzie winner and will be laughed and ridiculed for years to come. |

I'd say the hair is ok for day off Freddie around that time? It's the eyes that spoil it. |
Lplix 09.11.2017 08:22 |
...the adidas model is completely out of place .... not to mention the rest. |
matt z 09.11.2017 09:47 |
^i just think he looks like a grotesque caricature. U guys are analyzing minor details. Eh..maybe in action he'll be convincing...otherwise. ...what if Malek was just chosen for his BOYISH countenance? |
dysan 09.11.2017 09:54 |
I thought Singer only liked girls? Oh I see |
john bodega 09.11.2017 10:35 |
He looks positively rabid. The other lads should spend most of the movie fending him off and trying to encourage him to get into his little dog cage so they can take him to the gigs and let him loose. |

Biggest problem are the eyes. Rami has a completely different pair of eyes... I think he'll do a good job acting wise but his appearance may be too different to actually make it work. Of course, we're not the average fan so maybe we're being too harsh ?? |
dudeofqueen 09.11.2017 12:59 |
on my way up, re: >Biggest problem are the eyes. Rami has a completely different pair of eyes... As I understand it, Beechy Boy had Freddie's eyes removed prior to cremation for just this eventuality; they'll be added in post-production along with a "Chinese Torture-styleeeee" Brian May chord every time he appears on screen. |
Invisible Woman 09.11.2017 15:12 |
I still think that he is not right choice for Freddie's role. |
matt z 09.11.2017 15:34 |
^i think he looks downright frightening in some snaps |

Or had him wear green screen goggles to add in later. Raccoon like |

I think the office casting memo must have contained a typo. Instead of receiving a description of someone who buggered off...they received "bugged out" |

No, no.... aaaand NO! Moustache is bad, hair is bad, even in the shot depicting him in a live gig setting just look at his ribs outline.... According to Phoebe and Freddie's entourage, his looks didn't have a "day off"! He was one of those people that would spend hours in front of mirror before going out, making sure that he looks fab. |
Invisible Woman 09.11.2017 19:08 |
He looks more like Benicio Del Toro than looks like Freddie. Or that just seems to me. |
matt z 09.11.2017 20:03 |
BUT! I've found that if you cover his eyes with your thumbs (I'm on a mobile device) the illusion is significantly better. Hopefully this will all be covered with flattering Hollywood camera lighting and angles. Just like Tom Cruise looking taller than 4'3" ;-) |
felix ibex 09.11.2017 22:07 |
I cant wait Im so excited to see Rami play this role its going to be Great! |
noorie 10.11.2017 00:07 |
Nooooo!! Rami looks like a hairy chipmunk! This seems more like they're making a parody rather than a regular movie! |
Wiley 10.11.2017 03:31 |
The criticism of the likeness is fair and I can understand people having a problem with his eyes but movie magic (editing, angles, lighting) and a solid script can do wonders so I wouldn't discard the movie only on these grounds. Most people don't know every inch of Freddie's face and will be able to suspend disbelief if Rami's acting is credible and the movie is good. Silly fact: For years, in my teens and before seeing videos of The Doors and getting to know that band a bit I remember picturing Val Kilmer's face when I thought about Jim Morrison just because I used to seeing the movie poster everywhere back then. |

All right, he can't and doesn't have to be identical to Freddie. But the actor should have something to remind the person which actor plays when he doesn't wear the mask and makeup for the movie. It seems that it was the most important thing to have artificial teeth and mustaches and he could be right for playing Freddie. Val Kilmer's eyes and lips don't differ much from Jim Morrison's. Rami Malek without makeup and mask has no resemblance with Freddie. Not at all. |
dudeofqueen 10.11.2017 10:55 |
I can see people pelting their TV screens with rotten veg and no studio in their right mind is going to go anywhere near putting this out to cone,as. |
noorie 10.11.2017 14:45 |
Wiley, that is just it! We'll have a whole lot of people picturing Rami when they're listening to Queen! And that is so wrong! It's like Freddie will be replaced by Rami in so many people's minds. |

For anybody to picture Rami when thinking about Freddie years from now that would mean that the movie was enough of a hit for average Joe to casually get into Queen but not enough for him to get to know Freddie better. That guy wouldn't have bought/downloaded/streamed Queen otherwise. On top of that, some of those guys will end up becoming fans of Queen - a few, obsessive collectors like some of us here. To me there is no downside to making a biopic... UNLESS IT SUCKS!! (fingers crossed) :) |

Indeed for Joe Public the Freddie facial similarities arent't that important, but it simply doesn't match up with the utterly perfection Brian /Roger stand for with hiring a bucky Gollem |
