It has just come to my attention that there has been some internal conflict with management that the band are considering christening Adam Lambert to be confirmed as a permanent member of Queen. The source refuses to corroborate the identity of the report but says some staff have threatened to tender resignations immediately. Supposedly this is at the behest of the record company (Island) which would feel that it is in the label's best interest to release upcoming collaboration material without financial dispute with Adam's primary label, Warner Bros. Again I cannot confirm or deny the authenticity of what I have heard but I will provide updates to the forum if/whenever something new is revealed. |

Most tantrums are not fair game, but in the instance this becomes fact and not fiction, I’d take exception. But first I’ll take this with a grain of salt. |

Good on him and the Band as long as they continue making Music thats Great , I must admit the following is ridiculous . "The source refuses to corroborate the identity of the report but says some staff have threatened to tender resignations immediately".....what a load of Crap! ..Queen is a Business why would you want to leave? crazy if you did..what a joke! |
GrowUpGlamberts 02.10.2017 02:57 |
Even though there’s not a shred of evidence to support this claim, the guiding principles that would drive such a decision are real. Last week, Atlantic Records just signed a teenage girl that got famous by disrespecting her mother on a talk show. Not a second of experience in the music industry - apparently money sings louder than lyrics. Back on topic: I couldn’t see this going well with even the casual fans. |

Even if for financial and contractual reasons they did this behind the scenes, there’s no reason at all why they would want to then publicly drop the “+ Adam Lambert” from the billing. Even Adam gets his name up every time that way, whereas just being labelled as ‘Queen’ sees him become invisible to the public. |

Something like this has to be agreed by all Queen members. I believe John would totally reject this idea at all. |

OP's first post...obviously a wind up. The kind of thing Greg would do to amuse himself, I suspect |

UPDATE (3 Oct): It looks as though the negotiations have fallen through. The internal resistance of those involved with Queen Productions Ltd. seems to have overruled the arguments for the restructuring. Adam's ambivalence also likely played a role in crushing final talks. As for John Deacon's involvement in these talks, I have no idea what part, if any, he may have played. Updates to come whenever possible. Also to clarify... I have no professional or legal associations with the band, production companies or record labels. |
matt z 03.10.2017 13:53 |
Is this implying that AL was to be restructured as to be an equal partner in the entity known as QUEEN? even sharing revenue from past albums, merchandise? Or am I just thinking of the worst possible scenario? |
Invisible Woman 03.10.2017 14:24 |
This is still just a rumor. Perhaps somebody will be upset that I will say it again, but to me Queen=Freddie,John,Brian and Roger. They will decide what will be best for them (in every sense) and they will not make a decision based on whether the fans like something or not. |

AllGodsPeople 05.10.2017 16:12 |
UPDATE (5 Oct): I can now confirm with my source that there have been no changes to either the official lineup of the band or the restructuring of assets of the plc. The way I understood it from my correspondence, Brian and Roger considered surrendering a percentage of their individual shares with no changes to the assets held by the estate of Freddie Mercury under two accounts (Mercury Songs Ltd and Goose Productions). Adam would have had a controlling stake under this arrangement - including revenue sharing and merchandise earnings reaped as a full member of the group, as was written here - effective the next fiscal year. If there are alterations to the agreement, the regularly updated documents on the Company House website should reveal them. |
GrowUpGlamberts 06.10.2017 00:22 |
Pitiful that this was even considered. Imagine Lambert receiving a single cent for the Queen's studio work without a single second of his own input. He has better restraint than Brian and Roger, I'm afraid. Ironically maybe that in itself is worthy of him being a 'gift from God'. |
