Queen
Leiden, The Netherlands
Groenoordhallen
September 20, 1984
This is an uncirculated recording from the Leiden show on the Works tour, and certainly better than the existing two sources. This is a very good show from the boys, with a rare 80s performance (sort of) of '39.
It takes the taper a couple songs to get his gear set to his liking, and then the sound is stable and great. There are some balance issues as it seems the recording keeps flipping back and forth between mono and stereo, but it is a minor distraction. It's definitely one of the best audience tapes of 1984.
The tape was transferred to 24 bit / 96 kHz WAV, and I safely dithered it down to 16/44 with absolutely no audible difference.
Thanks to Ghostofasmile for doing the transfer, and to the taper, whoever/wherever you are !

That's great, that was my first concert ever, 13 years old and what a introduction to live music. It was very intimidating, i was blown away by their in those days huge lightning rig and the sheer volume of their PA-system. Second time i saw them was in 1986 during the magic tour, same venue.
Great memories and thanks for the upload.

Isn't the tape running a bit slow ?
Disrobed before I even get a chance to accept the promotion ! ;)

Update your info file if you feel so inclined !
Thanks a lot!
Can somebody torrent this (and also the new Manchester 86 source), maybe on dime? I don't know what the problem is but download/upload sites don't seem to work on my computer (which is old and "dirty" (lots of bugs)).
Thanks in advance.
