I Go Crazy? |

It may be a good time to compile as much information as we can. From the link above: The revelation will be published in a forthcoming book on Bowie by Neil Cossar, a music historian. In one passage, Hince recalls: “They … performed some original songs they did together and also covers. They were just jamming in the studio and it all got recorded – All the Young Dudes, All the Way from Memphis and various rock classics.” Speaking to the Guardian on Wednesday, Hince said there was no question that the recordings exist. “There’s stuff with Freddie and David singing together – proper full-length rock’n’roll tracks … Raw, but good.” The material goes beyond their Cool Cat recording, which originally featured Bowie’s vocals, he added: “I was in the studio with them. It was all quite spontaneous. It was one of those rock’n’roll moments. They were just fooling around and played each other songs. Certainly, there were other tracks recorded with Queen and Bowie, and Freddie singing, which were never released. Pretty raw, but original material definitely. They were just incredibly spontaneous, good musicians. “I can categorically say I know that there were complete tracks, not mixed tracks, but fully formed songs that were done. Does it belong to the David Bowie estate or to Queen? That’s probably part of the reason these things have never come to light.” Brian May last month: “Not all of what we did in those sessions has ever come to light, so there’s a thought.” (duh) We know about this as well: "I haven't really. Well, apart from another song by Bowie and Queen called 'I Don't Want To Be A Rolling Stone.' It's stunning. It was later re-worked to become 'I Go Crazy.' It's good as 'Under Pressure.' It would have been a great follow up single. " To sum up: All the Young Dudes All the Way from Memphis Cool Cat Feel Like (?) I Don't Want To Be A Rolling Stone / I Go Crazy (?) Under Pressure Rock classics (various) I wonder if Brian is hinting that they plan to do something with Bowie's recordings, there's probably a few things worth releasing. Perhaps they've been working on it for some time already (hence Roger's inspiration for Journey's End). I think the only time they might have gone back to these sessions before was when they released "Under Pressure (Rah Mix)", which features just a couple new snippets from Freddie and Bowie. Maybe they're digging deeper now. |

Wow, All The Young Dudes as a duet ? Well, it could sell.. and also could be perceived as a commemoration of the band and Bowie's collaboration. CD with tracks... add a couple of Brian's and Roger's warm words about David as a genius musician and you have a nice release. QPL, there's money for ya in it, lol. |

I think there could a respectful release here. Many people especially in the music biz/general public would cry cash-in, on 2 dead stars...BUT I think there is quite a market for something like this. If it's put out in raw form. No sprucing up for Single release, etc. Just simply: The Queen + David Bowie Sessions Ahh I can dream, right? |

I really doubt it BM would allow just "sessions" to be released, we will get the "perfection" excuses again. |

I'm afraid another Queen + Bowie thing will probably suffer the same fate. |

Quite frankly, they only released one song that, while it was a different version, it wasn't new at all for the fans nor it was a groundbreaking track and there was no hype behind it either. Beyond the musical quality, it's the kind of music that doesn't sell today inside a compilation of mostly old and known songs. |

Though a full album of tracks or a full EP that isn't just chucked onto a compilation and marketed as exactly what it is might be a better bet than 1 half baked remixed and messed with track on a compilation.soxtalon wrote: I think there could a respectful release here. We knew they did more - It's nice to have some titles though. Strange nothing was dug up for previous releases like Ronson's Heaven & Hull postumous album (I guess the Tribute version of ATYD was a no brainer). Which also begs the question as to why that wasn't added to GH3. For Queen to absorb ATYD into their catalogue would be a sensible and pleasing move. |

I think we can expect a new compilation ala 'Queen Forever' including a new track by Queen + Bowie |
Negative Creep 14.07.2017 11:15 |
Yeah, but the tracks with Jackson WERE truly shit. |

There are bits of synth experimentation recorded by Ratty and Crystal which made it to some rough 'Flash Gordon' demos, but not to the album. Those could also be included. After all, that was Frederick's favourite film. |

More Queen+.......... I never cared for Under Pressure in the first place; had it been a Queen track it wouldn't have sold in anywhere NEAR the volumes it did. Bowie and Freddie competing to be heard on a few cover versions? Not sure that's of much interest to me either unless the backing tracks were, truly, live-in-the-studio and left alone by the curly-haired misogynist; but we all know that's not going to happen. Collaborations? Meh....... |

A lot of bowie's catalogue is being put out so not sure if they'll be too much objection from his estate, sure he wanted his family looked after. Queen need to put something worthy out after some very iffy collections and bonus issues since queen rocks. Haven't listened to made in heaven in ages either, only really liked the unreleased tunes not the reworked freddie ones. Something new/old please... |
queenrules2007 14.07.2017 22:13 |
Hey all I think everyone is missing the point when queen done the rah mix version pressure in 1999. There was 2 demos mixed in one from the highlander sessions with new york from 86 with the lines you say new york is dangerous. This falsetto from freddie was also used on pain is so close to pleasure so must be round that time. And also the bowie part even the blind man could see there was some soul. Which is taken from a Queen song possibly the same as feel like but with bowie on it. That song is titled People On streets So you have Cool cat (Bowie backing vocals) People On Streets. (With some lines from feel like and under pressure) Plus one other which is being kept secret?? |
