With a little under four weeks before first night it would seem that they haven't started to rehearse yet.
Given the noise made about it being a brand new production and set list I'm surprised that they haven't given themselves a longer lead up time.
In recent years Queen don't seem to have felt the need to spend much time preparing for a tour, this would seem to be in vast contrast with bands such as Muse, Rush, NIN etc and I don't feel it unfair to say it shows.
In previous years they have only convened a week or two before the shows to run through the set together...production, stage, sound and lights will already be doing their thing, and then they will come together for a few days production rehearsals at the end. Adam will be learning him stuff in the background too.
I'd love to sit in on rehearsals. Not necessarily see the gig. Too bad i don't know em personally.
Actually thinking of going to Arizona 's gig for cheaper better tickets than the Hollywood Bowl. Anybody else going from Arizona?
Used to be peeps on PRINCE.ORG would convene and give away tickets (*I'd done it) for fellow ORG ers.... but. ..we all know what happened there (*sort of) :-/
usually its the production side doing the work up till now on the last tour the band never came together till t-3 weeks and rehearsal's start around the 10 day mark to keep it fresh, the band will pretty much know the running time and set list just tweeks along the way with any changes made during the rehearsal stage
Most bands touring on the scale that Queen are would spend between two and four weeks in a rehearsal studio running through songs and deciding on possible running order (setlist)
Once this is done they would normally move to a production facility (aircraft hanger sized building) for between four days and a week of full production rehearsal. This is the point were lights, video and stage are built for the first time, sometimes taken apart and rebuilt so that the crew know exactly what they are doing.
The PA takes the least amount of work because the system is made up of standard units. In Queens case Clair Brothers (Clair Global) weather they are supplying Kiss, Roger Waters or Fleetwood Mac the basic set up and rigging for the sound is the same. The lights stage and video can be very different, especially in use not just rigging from band to band.
What my original post was saying is that Queen seem to invest less time than most in getting there side of the operation (the music) right
^yep sure sounds like it.
They probably Skype all the ordinary concerns about set lists. FOR FINANCIAL REASONS :*)
errr... i mean
. To give YOU the audience the best experience!

Rather hoping they go to Bray Film studios again, they've rehearsed there before, might pop along if it looks like they are
Over the last few years with Lambert they've been using LH2 near Heathrow. More central than Bray and purpose built for large scale productions (music)
