He makes it sound like he was working at the shoot or was friends with someone working at it, but he created a YouTube account just to upload this footage. Not to mention the poor English, getting the date wrong, spelling "Freddy's" name wrong - draw your own conclusions. The quality has been purposely degraded, and it's watermarked. We can be pretty sure the uploader has little intention of releasing a better quality copy. |

Fantastic material. It is very interesting to see the band at work and the interaction between Freddie and Lambert. |

WOW - That is just AWESOME !! Can't believe what I've just seen..... Thought I'd just log into Queenzone for 2 mins and find this... Best new Queen clip I've seen for months and months. ...I'm almost in *shock* |

Thanks for a great video experience. But, you know... Who needs rare stuff when the Queen team can release a new GH compilation with a never seen picture on the cover? Who wants to enjoy some demos when you can buy WWRY and some other hits again in 100 diferent ways? |
podders 16.01.2017 16:53 |
Haaha - check out on 21 mins exactly when Freddie breaks the sword and it nearly takes Brian's eye out! Classic. Great video too. Lovely to see from this point of view. Nice find and cheers to the uploader! |
scottmax 16.01.2017 18:21 |
Superb, best Queen related item for very long time.... I wonder though, shame Mr Brooks doesn't comment on stuff like this? Or is he too busy crying whilst telling Tori Amos stories..... |

So a couple thoughts, now that I've watched through most of this: a) the wind blowing machine is ridiculously loud (and, let's face it, it's 95% meant for Brian's hair) b) there's not a chance in hell that the filmer is a member of the crew - so many of the shots are dodgy, and the obvious need to be covert is no different from security ducks at a concert (at 17:43 that hand in front of the lens says he was busted) That said - this is still f&cking amazing footage. |
podders 17.01.2017 01:07 |
^ Agreed I can't remember the last time I saw two minutes of unseen footage let alone a full half hour. A real treat but undoubtedly we'll wait a long time for something else like this. Made me watch the start of Highlander last night rather than marking exams!!! |

Here's a good question - if this WAS released officially (say an easter egg on a new Greatest Flix package, would we be OK with the 30 minutes being whittled down to say a 10 minute highlight reel? Perhaps even tidied up so during the performances bits we'd hear the actual song rather than the ambient room sound? Which also suggests someone clever might like to have a go at cutting a new video for the complete song using the best bits from this. |

And if they cut it down, the same fans would say - "how dare they cut it down!?" Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Even some Pink Floyd fans were ripping the new 27 disc box set to shreds because it was 98% previously seen/heard content (even if the man on the street hadn't seen the majority of it). People just want to complain. They like having a voice, and the internet has made that release and resulting validation easier than ever. I think that really is the extent of it. Let's just be happy that this stuff leaks out in one way or another. |
Double-U 17.01.2017 14:13 |
I doubt that the filmer wasn't allowed to film. You can see Russel Mulcahy joking into the camera. regards, W. |

^^ kinda assumed it was an insurance person on set. Frequently these things get documented for those purposes, especially considering the pyro. Really the most exciting non release in a while. |
