First concert - Frank Chisum, an Irish Elvis impersonator - does that count?? He was actually very good. First Queen related gig was Q=PR in Belfast 2005. I went along begrudgingly but was absolutely blown away. Closest thingI'll ever come to the real feel of a Queen gig I'm sure. |

Brian May in Edinburgh June1993 U2 Glasgow August 1993 Pink Floyd Earls Court October 1994 Bob Dylan Edinburgh June 1995 The atmosphere at Brian's gig was phenomenal as was the sight of him appearing on stage , this hero I had only seen pictures and videos of before. There were some lasting musical highlights....but I guess not really that strong compared to what I saw after. I've seen Roger and Q P R as well and similarly there were highlights in them, but somehow not real gigs. Everyone just hoping for glimpses or rekindled memories of true magic. |

First Queen concer was Crazy Tour; Glasgow Nov 30th 1979 First concert was erm....Gary Glitter, some years before Next Queen concert was both nights in Royal Highland Exhibition Hall, Ingleston,Edinburgh. Sorry to deviate a bit here but it's worth mentioning that Queen at that time were a very different band compared to 1979. In the intervening years, they had learned to nail it live; the sound was awesome (despite the venue), the lights were superb for the time, the staging was awesome and Freddie had morphed into a moustachioed stadium rock icon There were two concerts, 1st and 2nd June 1982. It was unusually warm at the time and, inside the venue, it was stifling.... if memory serves, Freddie mentioned this; "Nobody told us we were playing a bathhouse tonight; let's all shower together after the show" My overweight 16 year old self was suddenly terrified! The support band on the first night was The Teardrop Explodes who were particularly poorly received; distinct memories of Julian Cope drenched in sweat strugggling to hold his nerve before a hostile Scottish audience Queen, on the other hand, were welcomed like conquering heroes...one of the best nights ever Saw them again in 1986 and various guises since then but nothing compares to those hot nights in '82 |

First concert - I was 6 or 7. It was a concert of the well-known band in Poland called Golec uOrkiestra in 2001 or 2002. My first Queen-related concert was actually Polish project called "Queen Symfonicznie" in December 2015. Then I was at Brian's gig in Cracow in March 2016 (One Voice Tour) and Q+AL at Oswiecim in June 2016 and again "Queen Symfonicznie" which means "Queen Symphonic" last week in Cracow. |

First ever concert - Queen, Glasgow Apollo, 1st Dec 1979 15 years old, me and a classmate - as first concerts go that's the bar set pretty high right there. Not sure it was ever beaten, although first concert of Works Tour in Brussels came pretty close. Travelled to that from Glasgow on my own and just fell in with so many great people, particularly a group of lads from Milton Keynes. We had an unbelievable laugh singing the Queen catalogue on the top deck of the ferry with other strangers on the way over from Folkestone to Ostend, way into the early hours of the morning. Great memories. |
