When I was growing up, A Night at the Opera was the first LP that I purchased. I bought it when I was six years old with my allowance when I accidentally broke my mother's copy.
Anyway, since I purchased the vinyl box set, I was excited to see ANATO in its original big 12" glory again. When I took it out of its protective plastic, I was wondering why the jacket was presented in matte. The same goes for the Best Buy version (from the Cosmos Rocks box set).
In my memory, ANATO always had a semi-gloss finish, like the way A Day at the Races always was.
Am I mis-remembering this? Perhaps this is the way the British album was presented and not the Elektra version?
