I thought Brian needed to get away from it all for a while? Why is he posting stuff to the soap box now? The best movie to watch while intoxicated is Step Brothers.

He had said he was cancelling all engagements and clearing his diary for the rest of this year, and wouldn't be on Twitter, Sopabox etc....that lasted a couple of weeks before he was back in London and complaining about the leaf clearers in his road. If the 'retreat' he jetted off to is supposed to teach him to let the less important niggles slide then if I were him I'd get my money back!
Since then he has posted about being in the studio with Kerry, and also attending a couple of other functions, so he seems to be back in the swing of work. I do think a contributing factor could have been (from what I have seen online of the performances) that he did not play up to scratch on the last Q&AL tour leg, and his confidence was so dented that he axed the tour with Kerry.
Innocent 'til proven guilty, but my point was he is a central figure in a sex abuse case with underage boys. If he was guilty of killing a badger or eating a steak he'd be on Brian's shit list, but possibly he's a pedophile and that may not be troubling. Just find it odd that Brian is holier than thou about what he sees as injustice, and it's a big if, but if there is truth to the allegations Bryan Singer is odious.
As far as i'm aware there's no outstanding case? a few cases where filed but each has either been dropped by the claimant or no evidence has been found, one case centred around an assault in in the US when he wasnt acutally in the country... As they say no smoke without fire, but so far nothing needs to be 'proven'
thanks for adding an even creepier dimension to the project.
I'd GLANCED over the accusations before, but this sounds pretty much druggily evil. that was very thorough
With Bryan Singer as a director I got a feeling this movie will come out and it will come out as Queen want's it.
Both parties want to keep personal kinky sexual stuff hidden...
It won't be a film worth watching unless band/management take a step back. Understand they don't want it to be salacious and exploitative of their dead friend but there has to be an acceptance that: 'nice guy who could sing did so for a few years' - isn't the world's most compelling narrative.
In an accurate portrayal of someone's life story you need ups and downs. Reading between the lines over the years it seems there's huge resistance to anything that'd resemble an interesting story. There has to be his love-life struggles, arguments within the band, health issues in later life and how the press intrusion impacted that, as well as the triumphs and the high points
At times I wonder if the most dramatic, revealing and personal thing they want to explore in the movie is that time Freddie was running 25 minutes late for a recording session.
I just really, really wouldn't bother with this project. But if they are going ahead with it, they'll always have that Channel 5 doco for a guide as to what NOT to do
I'm not for a moment defending him as the truth will out as they say, but that was the Hollywood reporter... not the most shall we say legit source of accurate info, there are also a number of internet sources showing very little actual evidence other than heresay... just sayin....
I really think this film shouldn't be made. When I first heard in 2010 it was being made I just thought it was a naff idea. Freddie said "don't make me boring".... well, they're doing a pretty good job at making Freddie boring.
The best way to honour Freddie would be to release some of the milestone concerts in their entirety, throw in some unreleased gems, or even some work in progress (all the stuff on YouTube that could go into an official anthology in its current state), or just actually stop releasing stuff and allow the legacy to take care of itself.

Can't really be bothered with this film anymore since anyone with a bit of a name dropped out, but let me just note it seems rather ironic they seem to be at precisely the same stage of making it as they always were, i.e. having initial talks between them, Jim Beach and whichever director / actor still expresses interest in the film. Eh... good luck.

Examples? :)
I saw a YouTube clip of I Was Born To Love You and the solo was a trainwreck.....started off badly and got worse from there :-/
Thanks for the link - when you see Rami Malik talking you can already see a really great and natural resemblance to Freddie....to get that AND someone with the proven acting skills is great; I hope the script and story are as good!
