Hello all, I'm currently watching the election here in the US, quite a miserable affair that made me joke about the this track in relation to it. Got me thinking however... Its a really well recorded track with some very interesting highs and lows. Maybe this has been asked before but I'm curious to know if this song was played live or not. It would seem me that this tune would be a great live number for every member of the band. I'd love to hear any thoughts, thanks guys. |
Sebastian 08.11.2016 22:53 |
There's no evidence of this song ever having been played live. That said, we haven't heard every single Queen concert ever, so it could still be theoretically possible (though still highly unlikely) for them to have tried it out once at some obscure location and then never again. |

You know your country is in the shit when it elects a racist orangutan as its president. The chants of "USA! USA! USA!", by the redneck hicks to Trump's first speech since being elected, just bolstered this point. But at least Putin is happy. The Russian bear is content. |

He needed(and got) votes other than hicks, or he wouldn't have won. Hillary's establishment, all the media, and I mean all the media here, etc, didn't save her, shows how people are fed up. Dem and Reps have done nothing for the middle class over the last 30 years, actually made it worse, so the people here wanted someone that a least heard them. I'm not saying he will but at least he says the right things for the middle class. |

I don't see what the hell is so wrong with Brexit. What is so noble about going down with a sinking ship that you were forced to board in the first place? While Trump is far from my first choice, it is far better than continuing Obama's policies. Just look up Seth Rich in the news. Plus I rather have hicks choose the new leaders rather than the always corrupt and brainless progressive liberals. |

The late Richard Rorty, important american philosopher, foresaw this happening in 1997: "Members of labor unions, and unorganized unskilled workers, will sooner or later realize that their government is not even trying to prevent wages from sinking or to prevent jobs from being exported. Around the same time, they will realize that suburban white-collar workers—themselves desperately afraid of being downsized—are not going to let themselves be taxed to provide social benefits for anyone else. At that point, something will crack. The nonsuburban electorate will decide that the system has failed and start looking around for a strongman to vote for—someone willing to assure them that, once he is elected, the smug bureaucrats, tricky lawyers, overpaid bond salesmen, and postmodernist professors will no longer be calling the shots…. One thing that is very likely to happen is that the gains made in the past forty years by black and brown Americans, and by homosexuals, will be wiped out. Jocular contempt for women will come back into fashion…. All the resentment which badly educated Americans feel about having their manners dictated to them by college graduates will find an outlet. " |

This isn't like when Bush was re-elected in '04 and people were moping around, complaining that their milquetoast candidate (Kerry) didn't get in. Trump's rhetoric and the actions of his supporters, in one day since he became the President-Elect, have spoken volumes that all men are most definitely not created equally: link This isn't a liberal vs conservative thing, a red state vs blue state thing, a Democrat vs Republican thing, a country bumpkin vs a city slicker thing. It's a love vs hate situation, and Trump and his supporters have made it clear that they have no interest in including everyone – only heterosexual white Christian Americans who irrationally fear that the durrty furreigners are gonna take their jobs. Spoiled brats? Nah. They're legitimately and rightfully fearful for what Trump will do to unravel decades worth of work for civil and human rights. |

I saw that and was horrified, and I saw that somewhere else (California, I think?) that a girl was also harassed for allegedly voting Trump. It doesn't make any of it okay, but the truth of the matter is that Trump has fed into people's basic, primal fears of anyone who isn't white or straight, and now his supporters have already shown that they want no part of a unified America. They want it to be pure white. Trump spoke (uncharacteristically) on Wednesday of unifying America, and yet for the past 18 months he's spoken about how it's okay to beat people up for being different – he'll just pay their legal bills. |

Rarely do I respond to misconceptions about my Southern heritage. After reading some of these comments, I wonder how some of you know so much about a person like me. Hicks? Hillbillys? Poor and uneducated? Wow. I am from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. The Deep South. I am none of those things. Yes, the Southern states voted for Donald Trump. We support gun rights, rely heavily on The King James Bible and we do not support abortion. Casting a vote for Clinton went against every belief the southern states hold. Do I have an accent? Yes I do. But so do most of you. Do I hate gay people and African Americans? No I don't. I have rarely posted in this group but I am a fan of Queen. Trumps biggest supporters are white males with low education. That's not really an insult, it's a fact. The name calling is unnecessary though, I agree. Were people expecting a pat on the back for electing him as a president, then? With no good reason voting for him other than that Clinton might have taken your guns? It is your right to vote for your candidate, but it's not a right to be immune from criticism. |
Shuler266 14.11.2016 07:44 |
Gun rights was not the only reason Trump was elected. It was the one you singled out. I don't expect to be free of criticism. The majority of Americans got tired of Clinton corruption backed by Obama. The democrats backed the BLM movement as they slaughtered American cops in the streets. The Southern states stick to conservative candidates. I could care less if people criticize how I voted. But stick to my vote and not the fact that I am Sourhern followed by insults to my heritage. #winning |
Oscar J 14.11.2016 11:03 |
"The Southern states stick to conservative candidates". Fascinating how you are seemingly unable to form individual opinions. Voting Trump because "that's what we southerners have always done", not bothered the slightest by his view on global warming (which I guess you might not believe in due to your heritage), on women, on other ethnic groups, on disabled people. But I guess those few mean black people were more important than a global environmental catastrophy eh? I'm not sure the misconceptions you were complaining about actually were misconceptions. |
