Since I did something similar with 'Made in Heaven' a few weeks ago, I decided to do it for the other albums as well, starting off with 'Innuendo.' Without further ado: - Vicky Vocat: Nowadays a Phoenix Trust spokesperson, so she was probably involved with them as publicist or something like that back then. - Andre Gauchat: Assistant engineer at Mountain. - Karen Goodman: Studio manager at Metropolis, also thanked on 'Made in Heaven', 'Brixton Academy' and 'Back to the Light', all of which were partially recorded and/or mixed at Metropolis. - Peter Chant: The band's accountant for donkey's years. - Terry Giddings: Freddie's PA. - Gerry Stickells: Tour manager. - Melanie Martin: Brian's PA in America. - Valerie Moss: ??? - Sally Temple: Also thanked on 'Blue Rock' so perhaps Roger's assitant or something like that. - Ian Sylvester: Assistant engineer at Metropolis. - Jerry Hibbert & Rudi Dolezal: Co-directed the video for the lead single. - Hannes Rossacher: Also involved with videos. - Ina Meibach: Either an A&R person or a lawyer, or both. - Mark Christopher: Ambience coordinator (whatever that means) at Metropolis. - Peter Paterno: Hollywood Records president at the time. - Rupert Perry: President of EMI Records 1986 - 1995. |

Vocal harmony 05.11.2016 20:43 |
^^^ yes she worked with Jacky when the fanclub became independent from QP. I believe fanclub members who attended the convention over the years would remember her. |

Oh, I remember Val. The one time I visited the Queen Fan Club in London back in 1998 she welcomed us and showed us around for a few minutes despite, it seemed, she actually was on her way out when we came in. She was very kind. I didn't know she had passed. Rest in piece. |

Don't feed the troll, Bob. Moving on ... 'The Miracle': - Gerry Stickells: Tour manager. - Julie Nash: Something to do with QP at the time. - Claude Nobs: Fellow musician based in Montreux, probably a friend of theirs at the time. - Misa Watanabe: Freddie's tour guide in Japan. - Gilbert Marouani: Publicist (I think). - Peter Freestone, Joe Fannelli, Terry Giddings, Jacky Gunn: We all know who they are, don't we? - Nicola Froude: ??? - Anita Dobson: Brian's then girlfriend (now wife). - David Mallet: Video director. - Jacqui Byford: Video producer. - Melanie Martin: Brian's PA in America. It's worth mentioning that Brian used to spend long periods in the States back then. - Vicky Soder: ??? - Andre Gauchat: Assistant engineer at Mountain. - Peter Chant: Accountant - Bryan Lask: ??? - Mike Silverstone: ??? - Coutts & Co: Private banking. - Robert Lee: No idea who he is but he seems to be close with Brian (either socially or professionally) since he's been thanked on Another World, Anthems, Cosmos Rocks... - Penny Robinson: Again, probably a Brian connexion as she's thanked on 'Back to the Light' and 'Made in Heaven.' It might be a shot in the dark, but there's another common denominator between those three albums (and none others): 'Too Much Love Will Kill You.' - Marjie Winter: On 'Another World', Brian thanks her for 'Dusting and Polishing.' A PA maybe? - Gwen, Sara, Elena: We'll probably never know. |
Sebastian 06.11.2016 17:49 |
'A Kind of Magic': - Gerry Stickells: Tour manager. - Russel Mulcahy: Film director. - Peter Davies: ??? - Bill Panzer: One of the Highlander producers. - Julie Nash: Something to do with QP at the time. - Sally Green: No idea, but if she's the same as the writer Sally Green (whose debut novel was published a couple of years ago), then she was probably in her twenties at the time ... but she's supposed to be a 'new' writer so perhaps not a publicist at the time... I've no idea, really. - Jacky Gunn: Fan Club chairperson. - Melanie Martin: Brian's PA in America. - Collie: ??? - Peter Freestone: Fred's PA. - Joe Fannelli: Catering. - Tony Williams: Wardrobe. - Derek Power: Film music supervisor. - Peter Chant: Band's accountant. - Neal Levin: Probably something to do with Brian as he's thanked on BTTL & AW. - Sidney Sachs: Mis-spelt, as it was actually Sidney Sax - the RPO leader who'd also played for some Beatles' songs as well as the Flash OST. - Stefan: Wissnet, Mack's assistant engineer at Musicland. He can be seen with Mack and the band when they filmed the making of 'One Vision.' - Clive Martin: Assistant engineer / tape op. He claimed he was at Trident at the time ... the plot thickens indeed. - Spike Drake: Assistant engineer at either The Town House or Sarm West or both. - Noel Harris: Assistant engineer at The Town House. - Trip Khalaf: Live sound mixer. |

'Made in Heaven': * Ashley Alexander: Assistant engineer at Abbey Road (Spring 1993) and The Town House (September 1995), which means he witnessed both the beginning and end of the project. * Mike Crossley: Played synths in the Spring 1993 sessions. Whether those bits survived to the final cut is unknown ... though the fact he's mentioned could suggest so. * Frederick Delius: Quoted on IABD. * Noel Harris: Chief engineer when John and Roger did the preliminary work at Abbey Road in Spring 1993, before Brian's involvement. * David Mallet: Directing the video for the lead single (and probably others ... IDK). * Gustavo Moratorio and Crispin Murray: Assistant engineers at Metropolis. * Barry Woodward: Assistant engineer at The Town House. * Ian Sylvester: In charge of transferring material to digital. He's also thanked on 'Innuendo', 'Back to the Light' and 'Brixton Academy.' * Peter Chant: I think he's been their (and/or Brian's) accountant for a while now. * Spike Edney: Did he play on any of the studio cuts? Or perhaps it was because they sample some bits of the Magic Tour... * Karen Goodman: She was the studio manager at Metropolis. She's also thanked on Innuendo and some of Brian's albums (coincidentally, those which were partly recorded or mixed at Metropolis). * Melanie Keady: Brian's PA in America. She's also thanked on 'Another World' (I think) and TCR. * Erdal Kizilcay: Since he's also credited on 'Shove It', my guess is that perhaps he was somewhat involved with 'Heaven for Everyone.' Erdal is a Turkish-born Swiss-based multi-instrumentalist who's worked with Bowie and others, so perhaps he did some ghost instrumentation on it (perhaps the famous nylon-strung guitar bit?). As a curiosity, he also played bass on a 1987 Freddie demo ('Yellow Breezes'). * Robert Lee: QPL secretary. * Neal Levin: Again, I don't know who he is/was but he was involved with Queen at least since 'The Works', and is also thanked on both 'Back to the Light' and 'Another World'. * Richard Lyttleton: EMI executive. * Anne Meyer: She's been part of the management for a while now, and also thanked on 'Brixton Academy', 'Cosmos Rocks', etc. * Penny Robinson: One of the management directors at The Town House, also thanked on 'The Miracle' and 'Back to the Light.' * Gerry Stickells: Touring manager. * Gavin Taylor: Directed the 'Wembley' video, but no idea about his MIH connexion. * Vicky Vocat: I think she's some sort of publicist since she's also thanked on other Queen and Queen-related issues and was since made spokeperson for the Phoenix Trust. And then, of course, Phoebe, Mary and Joe for their association with Fred (though Jim's not mentioned ... odd). Which leaves the following ten people whom I've no idea who they are and why they were thanked: Stephen Blood Ruadhri Cushnan Ben Gibson Vernon Handley Fitz Jackson Anita Keogh Alistair McLaren Jane Moraz Bob Taylor Paul Twomey |

Bob Taylor could be the Bob Taylor who owns a company called Event Cover, they provide in house crew at major gigs to help the touring crews. They may have had a hand in helping at the Wembley tribute. |

Shouts at pigeons and starts arguments in Youtube comments. - General Klytus: Former school bully at Rugby, now Head of Mingo City Lost and Found dept. Would-be assassin, killed by malfunctioning National Lottery Powerball. - General Kala: broke the glass ceiling; first female General in Mongo history. Inspiration for Mongo women everywhere. Sebastian, Julie Nash was the company secretary of QPL i.e. Jim Beach's secretary in the 80s. Sally (If I remember correctly) was another secretary there. Just for interest, a little more info about 46 Pembridge Rd - Peter Chant was their accountant there at the same time. Julie (desk by the front door, where she also manned the buzzer, I'm assuming for security reasons too) and Sally were on the ground floor with JB, Peter Chant possibly on the second floor. Roadies had desks/ offices on the first floor along with Gerry Stickells. Third floor was for band meetings and to watch vids. Fan club in the basement along with the kitchen and merchandise/ stock room. Forgive my trip down memory lane...... :-) |
