I managed to pick a copy of this up this morning in a local second hand record store; never seen one in the flesh and he's had this in there for ages and I finally relented!
(Also picked up the vinyl LP by Virginia Wolf, produced by Roger & David Richards).
I think it's genuine - has all the right traits (cassette spelt correctly on reverse, right font on front etc). It's by no means 'mint' condition, but the rarity aspect makes up for that I think in this case. Given it's been in his shop for years I'd expect this condition. Even given a few marks I think the £50 I got it for (it was marked up for £80 but I made an offer!) was a good deal?
Good stuff mate :)
£50 is not a bad price at all, especially as he wanted £80. I had a mint copy years ago, which I somehow managed to snap up at £30 (I was buying lots of stuff from the same person so I got a nice discount). Resold it for £75 but really wish I had kept it.
I actually bought my copy from HMV on the day of release, if only I had known it's future value as they had a dozen or so on the shelf. Amazingly I also got 2 copies of the 12" live sleeve from the bargain bin in Woolworths for £1.25 each!!!! ??
