link Queen + Adam Lambert – Live in Japan” will be released in Japan on December 20th, 2016. This multi-format release captures the band’s headliner performance that took place on 17th August 2014 at Marine Stadium, the main stage of Japan’s largest rock festival, “Summer Sonic” in its entirety. The combination of Queen’s long and legendary standing with the young talent of Adam Lambert made for an unforgettable show. The stadium was filled to the brim with fans eager to see the first live show of Queen + Adam Lambert performing together on stage in Japan. The show itself, preluded by “Procession”, opened with “Now I’m Here”, and what followed was a performance of hit after hit, such as “Another One Bites The Dust”, “Killer Queen”, “Under Pressure”, “I Was Born To Love You”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Are The Champions”. Another highlight of the night was the performance of “Teo Toriatte (Let Us Cling Together)”, a song written by Brian May especially for the Japanese fans and includes Japanese lyrics. Even in 2016, two years since that show, Brian May recalls “We all thought it was quite a difficult gig. The audience was wonderful but it was so hot and so humid, it was very difficult to play, but when we saw the video, we thought that it was great and the interaction with the crowd was great”. Adam Lambert also recalls: “The Japanese audience was so passionate, so emotional. You could feel the connection. And it’s different than in other countries; there is something very special there”. Roger Taylor also adds “The audience reaction was fantastic, and it was such a young audience, which was a big surprise for us”. Since that summer of 2014, Queen + Adam Lambert have once again earned much critical acclaim from Japanese media and fans alike with their live performances, having successfully wrapped up a three-night run at Nippon Budokan in September 2016. “Queen + Adam Lambert – Live in Japan”, released exclusively in Japan in various formats, will surely be yet another memorable release for the Japanese fans who wish to experience and relive such a special night. Release formats: DVD Blu-ray DVD+Live CD Blu-ray+Live CD DVD or Blu-ray+Live CD+Tshirt Super Deluxe Box set (including DVD or Blu-ray+Live CD+2LP+Tshirt+Tote Bag+Photo Book) |

$96 Australian for A Blu Ray? Does the disc come with real gold glitter, a Badger badge, a badge for the film Solitary AND inflatable Adam doll. Way too pricey! |

Well, we can't forget that you're ordering from Japan, where prices for CD's, DVD's and Blu Rays are higher in the first place. Then on top of that you'd be ordering from a website that would compare to a band's official Japanese store. Unfortunately, it looks to be an exclusive and won't be sold through other websites like CDJapan, where the price might be cheaper. |

I looked through the Japanese press release and promotional material and found the following info: - pre-order starts October 8th, and sells through Ward Records online December 20th (no international shipping); however, they won't be sold in regular stores until late March 2017 - looks like the official title is "Queen + Adam Lambert Live in Japan Summer Sonic 2014" (in Japanese, of course) - it will be shown in four theatres in Japan (Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, and Nagoya) on November 24th, with proceeds going to the Mercury Phoenix Trust - on October 8th, the Japanese show "Ito Seisoku no Rock TV!" will air an hour-long special featuring footage of the concert, along with an interview with May/Taylor/Lambert that was recorded before their recent Singapore show - the Super Deluxe set is limited to 1000 units - the DVD or Blu-ray+Live CD+Tshirt box packaging will have special shiny embossed features; likely it will enhance the look and feel of that glittery confetti we see on the cover - Japanese subtitles available (even for song lyrics) - the Japanese press release is a bit longer and even mentions Paul Rodgers |

Plus is this the full show on DVD and BD while the cd is just a "highlights" cd ala that Queen+ Paul Rodgers Japanese only release or what? We need the full tracklisting |

220+ euros for the super deluxe box, excluding postage and probable import taxes. Awesome. |

Well, if it will be sold in regular stores from March, that's fine by me unless, of course, it's STILL a Japanese exclusive. If that turns out to be the case, then I think QPL should do some exclusive releases for the USA, South America and Europe of concerts from each of those regions.... |
Viper 08.10.2016 04:08 |
It will be nice to have this though it's very expensive and it's not a shorter show than the usual. |
Doga 08.10.2016 04:51 |
What a dissapointment. The show was already available, i think, and also is heavily shortened Compare this setlist in the Island of the Kiwis in the same year link To the soon to be released Summer-Sonic link |

To clarify, it's online sales only from the Ward Records website starting December 20th (no international shipping), and then physical stores in Japan will sell it March 2017. The press release says it's exclusive to Japan. But, if a major retailer starts selling it in March and they ship internationally, I suppose non-Japanese residents can get it that way. That or ebay. The CD, DVD, and Blu-Ray all have a 20-track setlist from Procession to God Save the Queen, so no cuts to the CD. Radio Gaga is the only track that has an asterisk next to the song title, but it's not clear why. It's also the only song title written in English, so maybe someone flagged it to see if it was supposed to be written in Japanese and accidentally left it on. The after tax prices in Japan are 8,100 yen for bluray or DVD, 9,720 yen for bluray or dvd plus CD, 14,040 yen for bluray/dvd+cd+shirt, and 27,000 yen for the Super Deluxe (everything plus 2 LPs and a different t-shirt). |

Weren't there plans to record and release the Australia concert? Anyway, I hope this release's good. |

There's some confusion in the promotional material. On one hand, it says it will be available at physical stores March 2017. On the other hand, it says something along the lines of: "this video product is sold strictly through Ward Records Direct (online), and there are no plans to sell it in physical stores." A twitter user pointed this out and asked if that meant only CD sales were planned in physical stores (no DVD or Blu-ray) in March 2017, but so far no response from Ward Records. A question about whether the video discs would be region free has also gone unanswered. |

What a trash! They should continue to release the real things. |

Well, the Kiwis show does include "39" and "Dragon Attack", but on the other hand it doesn't have "Teo Torriate" or "Born to Love You". The atmosphere might have been better during the festival too. I don't mind a shorter setlist either, might be easier to digest in one go. They just play the same songs over and over again, anyway. Certainly not buying it for this price though.

The NZ show has "Somebody to Love", "A Kind of Magic" and "Dragon Attack" while the Tokyo one has "Teo Torriate", "These are the Days of Our Lives" and "Born to Love You". Which ones you prefer is up to everyone. (i actually prefer the songs played in Japan) But the songs missings are the guitar and drum solos, "39", "Last Horizon" and "Who Wants to Live Forever". Pity because Who Wants to Live Forever was amazing that tour and Last Horizon is getting better and better each year. I picked the NZ gig by chance, there are other great setlist in the tour. They also did interesting experiments like "Ghost Town" in a few shows, letting Adam shine. |

They coudl easily add the 'missing' tracks as bonus extras, thus giving us (well, the Japanese fans) all tracks played across the tour. I'm sure they won't though. |
Michael Allred 10.10.2016 06:51 |
Hopefully this will go up for sale on a japanese site that won't need to be translated to order without worry. |
