Interview footage with Freddie on 'Countdown' has recently popped up in a documentary or two, and there is this audio interview with Brian.

It's an extremely revealing hour long (35 minutes with songs edited out) radio spot where he talks very candidly about Queen's history so far. While he forgets one of the tracks on the 1971 demo tape (Great King Rat), his memory of more recent events is much more fresh. He tells the story about the Ogre Battle intro (a hilarious one, actually, as it was a complete accident), he gives a detailed account of the famed Sunbury 74 show, he talks about falling out with their management (Trident) and how they'd officially severed their ties "six weeks ago", he clarifies that The Prophet's Song was "something which has been around for a long time, and nearly went on the previous album" while elaborating on why letting a song fester can actually be a good thing, and gives an excellent explanation about why they selected A Night At The Opera as their fourth album's title.
Needless to say, it's one of the best vintage Queen interviews on tape.
On comparing Opera and Races, both musically and the album covers, he says, "I think in the future they'll be saying it was just part of an era which we went through. I think we're through it now." How right he was.
Do we have an approximate or exact date of when they went to Australia? It almost seems bizarre that they went all the way there just to do some interviews, but it's true - they played no gigs or anything. I'd estimate it was late March or April, as they were back on the road in May, and already working on News Of The World not long after the Earls Court shows and their TOTP appearance in June.
they went to Australia in april 1976 perhaps these Interviews were made in London? Im yet to listen. Im guessing its propably Molly Meldrum Interviewing them?..... just had a listen ..yes its Molly Interviewing Brian in those days he would travel overseas to meet people for Interviews

Well, thank you.
What is the duration of the interview which Freddie gave on Countdown? I do mean footage.
Could it be possible that the interviewer was dispatched to England for this interview along with other possible interviews from selected bands while the interviewer was in town? Just a thought.
