I'm on a HUGE Works Tour kick and I've kinda given myself a bit of a workload so I'm making a thread to encompass all this so I'm not just blowing up the Announce forum. Ive been cherrypicking different shows from this entire tour that have caught my interest and cleaning them up to my tastes. This was kinda done selfishly for my own listening but on the chance anyone else might like what Ive done I'm sharing them here. Here is the first show of the tour, the fantastic first night in Brussels. http://www.mediafire.com/download/j235rrqac56pmae/1984.08.24_-_Brussels%2C_two_source_remaster.rar Queen Friday, August 24, 1984 Forest National, Brussels, Belgium TWO SOURCE REMASTER What I've done: speed correction EQ channel balancing combined the sources to complete the show The main tape used here sounded good but very cavernous. I have EQ'd it to better define the music coming through. Nice to see fans with a passion for the band creating and compiling great sets. I am working on sorts of anthology sets and keeps correcting it to make it bigger and better. |

Thanks for the encouraging words so far! I've actually already got 1984/08/31, 1984/10/19, and 1985/05/15 done but I wanna post these in chronological order. Also I'll be posting all three Birmingham shows together. Those three will come in two versions, full remastered and speed corrected only. |

Can I suggest a few speed corrections and merges for a few concerts? :) Could you maybe create a merge of the 2 Paris 1979 shows (28/2 & 1/3), using the audience source, pro shot and any other source (check Bob's web site here for all current audio stuff! queenlive.ca/queen/paris Many thanks! -Chin |

Thank you! This brings back many good memories. I was working in England at the time and excitedly booked tickets to three shows in London. I remember the excitement of the opening and the glimpses of many older songs. Being a Hot Space fan I went ballistic when Deaky moved on to the guitar for Staying Power and equally crazy when Stone Cold Crazy and Great King Rat made an appearance. I also remember how amazing it was to be part of and to watch the whole stadium synchronise moves and claps to Radio Ga Ga. I just wish Roger had left his electric drums at home for Felix to play with. |

link I know I said I was gonna post these in chronological order but Im making an exception for this one because its such a great show and I'm very happy with the results for this one. EQ was important for this one because Ive always felt this tape was very shrill and Ive sought to make it more pleasant to the ears. I think what Ive done opens the recording up more and lets it breathe. Queen Thursday, September 27, 1984 Schleyerhalle, Stuttgart, Germany THREE SOURCE REMASTER What I've done: Speed correction EQ balanced the channels Mixing sources to complete the show NOTES: I used Nordico's remaster of the master copy as a jumping point for this since what he did saved me a lot of extra effort. I used the video source's sound to smooth out the unnecessary fade between LOML and Stone Cold Crazy, as well as the cut after Bo Rhap. LINEAGE (Main source): Aiwa CM30 > Aiwa HS-F1 > Compact Cassettes (2 x TDK SA C90) Cassette master > Aiwa HS-F1 > Zoom H2 > SD-Card Reader > harddisc > Soundforge 9.0d (track splitting, fades) > TLH (flac level 8, sb aligned) LINEAGE (Video source): Master > (Unknown gen) > ??? > DVD > DVD Audio Extractor > WAV SETLIST: (1:49:47) Machines (Or 'Back to Humans') Tear It Up Tie Your Mother Down Under Pressure Somebody to Love Killer Queen Seven Seas of Rhye Keep Yourself Alive Liar Impromptu It's a Hard Life Mustapha Intro Dragon Attack Now I'm Here Is This the World We Created? Chinwonder2 wrote: Thanks again Sue! Have you taken my suggestion into consideration? :P -Chin Well, I was actually working on something like this for the 2/28 show. I have the full audience tape that has the cuts patched that was shared here and I have the flac version of antiden's Paris '79 video saved which to me has the best sounding audio. If I get around to finishing it I only wanna use complete songs to merge into the audience tape because listening to something in really good quality then having it shift to sounding worse after only a few seconds/a minute bugs me to no end. |
