As you all know Freddie would be 70 this coming 5th September.
I know there's the usual big official birthday celebration in Montreux taking place, but does anyone have any plans for something smaller, maybe in your local area? E.g. anything in London?
Not a damn thing planned. But I'll be wearing my QUEEN white tee from their early Japan Tour Tomorrow (*in honor of John Deacon's 65th). Unless I dressed like Deacy from Wembley or the GAGA video, I doubt anyone would get the connection.
Worse yet - imagine I'd dressed that way and NO ONE got the connection.
Well, in the first few years after Freddie's death, we met for a couple of drinks at various bars or at a friends home. After three or four years the interest lowered rapidly. And no, the release of MIH didn't changed the game.
Most of my friends dropped their interest in Queen around that point.
Don't know what to do nowadays...
I saw a post on Facebook stating there's a QUEEN event featuring a screening of "Queen" + ADAM LAMBERT from 2014.....
can you believe it? a Q+AL show on 9/4/16 (I know it's technically not his birthday but. ...)
kinda smacks of incongruity/insincerity
