Queen Productions and Island Music, in conjunction with Sony are proud to announce, for the first time:
Freddie Mercury - Live In your Living Room
Freddie Mercury was, arguably, the greatest rock frontman in history. His death from AIDS in 1991 robbed the music world of what was simply a unique talent and cut short the life of one of the worlds most creative musicians and performers.
Island Music, in conjunction with Sony, have come together to ensure that Freddie Mercury continues to be a part of everyone's lives, delving back in to his catalogue of music and performances to bring them to you, live and upfront.
Mercury's solo career began in 1984 with the release of the "Love kills" single and then went on to magnificent heights with the critically acclaimed "Mr. Bad Guy" (1985) and then his somewhat left-field but equally magical collaboration with Italian opera diva, Montserratt Cabballe "Barcelona". He was then to release sporadic singles and then a smash hit Number 1 with "Living On My Own" from "The Freddie Mercury Album" in 1992.
Now, well in to the 22nd century, Queen Productions Limited, through Island Music in partnership with Sony have created "Hologram Fred".
Available to purchase in a wonderful box set - complete with "sawn-off" mic stand, a 100% genuine bottle of Stolychniya vodka and a pair of ballet pumps, for the first time, in your home, Freddie Mercury will be able to perform all his greatest hits and more with you in true kraoke legend style. As a true bonus, fans will be able to access the user interface and fit him out on one of the many outfits he used during his solo career for ANY of the songs in the collection. So, if you would like to sing "Rotwangs Party" WITH Freddie and have him wearing the pink silk suit from "The Great Pretender", you can - at the click of a button.
Available on both PlayStation and X-Box formats, fans are guaranteed to have a blast with this unique offering.
Plans for the future include a Queen bolt-on pack where you can leotard him up, add or remove a moustache and generally have him cavort about all over the place to your heart's content.
The initial release (contained within a pink silk slip case) is limited to 5,000 units - available for a limited time and accessible via the Official International Queen Fan Club as an internet pre-sale on the anniversary of Freddie's birth (September 1st). The standard edition will be available on the anniversary of Freddie's death (November 21st) via Amazon and all leading retailers worldwide.
Freddie. Lives. Forever.
Ah, the future of technology.
Wouldn't it be good if that could really happen someday?
Taking it a step further, we could load in an audience recording and the AI could recreate the gig in hologram form.
On the back of Greggy Brooks' exclamation that we would get some "exciting Freddie news this year" I thought that, in the complete absence of anything else possibly being made available and relating to his career outside of Queen, this would be the only other option open to the powers that be. Still, those interested will have the pretty coloured vinyl box to look at, won't they?

Nope, completely sober......but completely and utterly bored at work.

My gold medal would be where you are able to do that with The Who and I could have Pete, John and Keith back me from 1969 through to 1977. The wife and kids would kick me out immediately though, but, on the positive side, I'd have no problem filling in the time.
I'd buy it.
Not sure if it will be a hologram though. I think we're going to see some pretty fantastic things as VR technology becomes better and better. Playstation's VR will be out this year, and Samsung VR and Oculus are already available, the former being quite cheap (but less advanced). It would be great to see one of Queen's concerts on VR.

Lol! Had to laugh. Mega busy day at work today. Would be nice to have a boring day for a change!!
magical collaboration with Italian opera diva, Montserratt Cabballe "Barcelona
Italian Opera Diva? Italian, here's your VR, born in Barcelona, 12 april 1933. But in the VR of QP She's from Barcelona, Italy....
Tom
Thanks for the laugh, man. Even the pacing was faultless. Just wish you would've mentioned Freddie's "Iconic Moustache look from the Christmas Show at the Rainbow 74'" and mega hits like "One Year of Love".

Read the first reply........
This is one of them.

I thought the 'sing "Rotwangs Party" WITH Freddie' element was especially neat....... ;-)
TomP63, re:

Ah, but you had to spot ALL of the mistakes to get that my friend....... ;-)

Grins from this, as it sounded so much like a QP write up, exaggerations and errors galore. It did make me dig through my collection, and I found my autographed 'Freddie Mercury Album' cd, ....
Looking forward to the sing along....
"No one stop's Rotwaing's Party, no one, no one, no one stops Rotwaing's Parr-tay, that's what I said...."
