There are newly submitted financial documents for QPL for scrutiny at companycheck.co.uk looks like their income has gone down significantly. The poor dears. |

Suprised to see the until 2012/2013 John was a director of Queen Touring Limited! link |

Pim, re: >Suprised to see the until 2012/2013 John was a director of Queen Touring Limited! I'd imagine that his decision to jump off of that board was because he simply couldn't bear to be backing and profiting from that ridiculous Adam Lambert collaboration. He could probably live with Paul Rodgers in the frame as they were, essentially, still creating but taking in a reality TV karaoke singer probably would have been the last straw. |

^This sustained belittling of Adam Lambert has gotten old a while ago. Most people will agree he's got a very good voice, technically speaking, although some don't like the way it sounds (I'm not a big fan of his voice either, although he can definitely sing). But he's not a karaoke singer, or anything ridiculous of the sort. His performances with Queen are not everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't mean that he has to be made out to be some low-rent singer who isn't worthy of playing with Queen. Brian and Roger chose him - it's their band, their music, and they've been (generally) selling tickets. We already know people don't like the idea of him singing instead of Freddie, but I think I'm rather tired of hearing endless non-constructive criticism about him. |

But, seemingly, not tired enough prevent you from responding to posts you vehemently don't like? Why bother yourself with it? Why not just scroll through and exercise restraint in not posting? How does complaining about complainers work when you simply complain that they are complaining? Aren't we all entitled to complain in this un-moderated world? Who are these "most people" you refer to? My experience of Queenzone is that the majority of people think he's a TERRIBLE singer....... Happy to be proven wrong though. The fact is that he's a very poor choice given that the version of the band with Paul felt happy to release a #single# pertaining to their dislike of the entire reality TV process - hypocrisy of the highest order, but then, with Brian May involved, that's hardly surprising, is it? |
Pingfah 01.07.2016 07:40 |
Regardless of whether you think he's a good fit for Queen, the only people who think he's a terrible singer are people who are deaf, or talking bollocks. He's clearly a highly technically accomplished singer. |

The poor dears.not really, the operating profit was still 7 million , which is not that bad compared to the previous years, plus they paid out a hefty 11 million dividend , with that reducing cash reserves to the average 7 million... nothing to be worried about! the 70ish headcount reduced to 2 was probably due to WWRY london closing in 2014, but its just my guess. |

Pingfah, re: >Wow. You must know him personally to have such insight into his feelings about things he has never spoken of? Wow. You're unable to read. Please note the use of the words "imagine" and "probably" in my post. At no time do I infer that I *know* John's "feelings" as you suggest. Please, in future, read posts properly before issuing 'shoot-from-the-hip' responses. And...... >the only people who think he's a terrible singer are people who are deaf, or talking bollocks. He's clearly a highly technically accomplished singer. You like your certainties, don't you. In your opinion, he may possibly be. Personally, having listened to thousands of singers for 40 years, I'd rate him as less than technically accomplished and, accordingly, terrible. |

musicland munich, re: >But please people, learn how to use the quote function. Sometimes it's a bit distracting to my eyes. I see what you mean and apologies, but the "Quick Reply" option with a bit of copy and paste is the best most manageable way for me - I'll continue to use that functionality until it's taken away....... |
mooghead 02.07.2016 15:46 |
"He's clearly a highly technically accomplished singer." I know lots of technically accomplished singers, they can hit all the notes and will sing you any note you throw at them, they have amazing vibrato and can hold the audience of a family barbecue in their hand. But they do not have the charisma, showmanship or general 'likeability'* that would make people want to go and see them. (* I would have said 'x factor' but that has become a byword for dislikable chancers...) |

Queen can release another album with Freddie material- with reworked version of Queen demos like "Face it Alone" and some of Freddies solo stuff- "Barcelona" and "the Great Pretender" rock version... |
Pim Derks 04.07.2016 01:13 |
That will never happen and no-one but us will care about it if it did happen. That being said, I loved pretty much every reworking they did so far (except There Must Be... with Jackson which sounded amateurish) - so I'd welcome a Queen version of In My Defence or another FM track any day. |

Pim Derks, : >That being said, I loved pretty much every reworking they did so far (except There Must Be... with Jackson which sounded amateurish) - so I'd welcome a Queen version of In My Defence or another FM track any day. This. The re-working of I Was Born To Love You was absolutely STELLAR. I remember nearly leaping out of my seat at the QFC launch at Hammersmith Odeon at the sound of Roger's snare - suddenly there was some percussive PUNCH to Queen recordings. In My Defense would be an incredible choice too and I've no desire to hear Brian and Roger overdub historical recordings that never made it in the first place. |

cmsdrums, re: >seriously saying there had never been any "percussive punch" in any of Queen's prior studio output until that track came out?!!!? Where a snare actually cracked like a snare should? Yep; absolutely. |

^^^ agreed, to an extent. I think a lot of their mid to late 80's production was bland and lacked the spark of the earlier albums |
Oscar J 05.07.2016 09:06 |
They never completely nailed the drum mixes on any of their earlier albums. They came really close on The Game, ADATR, some of NOTW. Sheer Heart Attack has great sounding isolated drums, but they somehow completely fail to cut through the mix. Compare the drums in BR to the isolated ones for example, especially the rapid snare triplets right before the guitar solo. |

Trying to unpick QPL's corporate structure may be tempting, but it really isn't worth the hassle. Nothing useful is learned. Sales figures, analysis of impact of ad licences thereon, validation mechanisms of foreign royalty numbers, publication of historic recording contracts, corporate correspondence, recording diaries - all much more interesting. |
dudeofqueen 12.07.2016 10:40 |
Penetration_guru, re: >recording diaries - all much more interesting. Now THAT is a book waiting to be written. But, sadly, given who'd be tasked with writing it and the factual and historical errors he's so renowned for in previous efforts, it'd be pointless getting the commission from Omnibus. As with all things, better that it was fan-produced and web-based IMVHO. |
