Just wondered what phones seem to cope well with recordings.
My Lumia 535 seems to get a pretty decent result at out door festivals.
It's a pity I didn't have it at Hyde Park back in 1976! link
Yes, I was quite surprised how well it coped with some fairly loud audio.
I'm going to try out a Samsumg Galaxy J5 on my next outing, but would still be interested to know what phones are considered best for this sort of thing.
The Nokia/Microsoft Lumias have a system for dealing with loud audio, which results in no distortion in the audio. I think it's called Nokia Rich Recording.
I tell you just in case you want to record with other mobile devices, to check if they have their own system against this problems or they simply record the audio as it's received by the mic.

My previous Samsung phone recordings did indeed suffer from severe audio distortion.
