This came to mind after seeing that post about a wishlist for multitracks soo....
Some of you guys might have remembered the Queen Cam feature from the 2003 edition of Live at Wembley Stadium. I like how it allows fans to see the concert in different perspectives, letting them focus on each member. (Queen Cam proved useful when I was watching how Roger would drum in NIH)
So I got to ask: If given the chance, which concert you'd wish would have received the Queen Cam feature? (of the entire concert if possible)
I'll start with...
Wembley '86 (both nights)
Budapest '86
Milton Keynes '82
These are the only gigs i can think of off the top of my head at the moment. What do you think?
John Deacon during Live at the Rainbow would have to be my absolute pick!!! Live concert wise, this would have to be John Deacon at his experimental best on the bass!!! trying all the high notes and high end bass runs and the infamous bass solo during Liar, also this concert would be on of the very few where he actually had confidence and used HIS MIC often!!! then it's known that some of the parts he sung had the backing tapes anyway...? i.e dodododo in Father to Son I do believe...? Also the closest thing we got to a bad boy adolescent Deacon image haha also we had a glimpse of a rare chillaxing stoner John Deacon too during Lap of the Gods medly where he is making that Bass hum CLIFF BURTON style!!!
Never mind the 80's concerts, I want to see the respective members at the top of their abilities. So stuff like Rainbow, Odeon and unofficial stuff from later 70's concerts would be gold.
@Oscar J: fair enough. I actually forgot to mention Houston and Earls Court as my choices, which is ironic, as Queen were at THE TOP of their abilities on those gigs.
Well now…
We COULD have had individual Queen Cams for Budapest as ALL the films from ALL cameras existed until - I think - the late 1990s??
Isn't the story that Queen Productions wouldn't pay for them so they were junked?!

That was said here, yeah. Pity.
We have Wembley on videotape and with overdubs, though. :)

EDIT: So you mean the Budapest rushes are gone because QPL didn't pay MaFilm? Damn. This sounds depressing.
So what do you think happen to the rest of the Montreal films?
(is there any way to fix my posts turning up blank except the quotes?)

Nah - surely you'd be better off going back to '93 and watching Cozy check out Shelley Preston's ass.
Killer_queenIII
There are people better qualified here to answer that but yes, I believe - based on reports - that the Hungarian National Film Archive (or whatever its called) offered the negatives but, when declined, had to chuck them. I suppose SOMEONE might have rescued them??!!
As far as Montreal… I believe they stayed on the cutting room floor at the time - so probably binned there and then?!
Personally, I'm really pleased that the Wembley Iso-Cams were preserved. Also, wasn't there a single Iso-Cam from Milton Keynes too?
Dang, I hope someone did, especially since we have the 16 cameras bootleg. As for Montreal, so much for seeing them play Flash and The Hero that time. Thankfully, we have the Buenos Aires concert to make up for that.
You and me both on Wembley. It's really nice we got to see a good portion of it, and be allowed to interact with them on the 2003 DVD.
Well something's gotta make way for the full Friday concert's inclusion, so I guess it's a fair tradeoff. If anything, I'm happy enough to get both the 2003 and 2011 editions for the bonus stuff
'Triangle cam'.. a GoPro stuck on the triangle beater played by John during every early live version of Killer Queen. Don't care if it is only 3 seconds long and has no band footage.
MORE TRIANGLE!!!!!

I find it hard to believe they destroyed the negatives for Budapest.
They must still exist somewhere.
Maybe QP just doesn't want to pay out the money to have them restored.

You know. ... I'd forgotten about her. She's quite a looker ( in her day) not so sure now.
But I think this calls for a side by side ass-off competition.
I'll start looking for photos for a quiz/poll
All this talk of Shelley Preston is most welcome but...
...here's an idea:
If (when?!) that Brixton gig come to DVD how about a Brian Cam.
And a Shelley/Catherine Cam of course!! ;-)
