Hi guys!I've been listening to this amazing power metal band lately called Blind Guardian that has an incredible singer.I was wondering if you guys could tell how he sings so high? For example here in 1:46 link
It sounds like a chesty sound but I'm not sure ?What register does this guy use in order to sing so high?Chest seems almost impossible.Usually on studio he even adds more grit to his voice especially in very high notes such as A5 , G#5 and it sounds so chesty. How does he do that?
P.S. I've heard he is a baritone or a high baritone
Here is a studio version link
We're talking about the same band that did a tongue in cheek album title called *(non coincidentally) A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, Right?
Pretty sure they're HUGE fans. Dunno the technique but I can fake it. :-)
I know this doesn't help

Yeah the band has stated that Queen has been a huge influence as far as orchestral parts go(vocal overdubs, guitar layering and stuff). They have even covered Queen's Spread Your Wings/
