Hi everyone!
Finally I found spare time to play with Queen sounds and I'm back with some new stuff :-) I've been working hard on this remix for about two weeks and I hope you enjoy it.
OK. Here's my attempt to convert 'We Will Rock You' into a 'different' song. I decided to create a new backing track and my main goal was to make the whole thing sound like it was recorded during The Works session, or at least circa 1984, hence the title :-)
So here we go...
And if you liked it and want to download it (+ instrumental version) here is the link to both MP3 and FLAC files: link
Hope you have fun while listening to this:-)
I would not seem exaggerated, but for me this is the best remix (among the official and unofficial) of WWRY I've heard so far.
A great remix must remember the original track but also must impress and refresh the first issue of the song; This one achieves both objectives (for me).
I can ear a great work behind this piece. compliments.
First of all, awesome remix!
You can hear you've put a lot of work in this remix, it has a lot of bits and pieces from another songs which makes it so much fun to listen to (like the scream on the right at 2:23sec).
With this remix (and other ones you've done) you prove that you really love doing this stuff and know how to use the tools when creating these mixes.
You put a lot of effort in these remixes that official remixes lack, Queen should be lucky to have you as a fan that makes remixes interesting to listen to.
That said, can't wait to hear your next remix!
Always love your stuff, PiotreQ, and this continues with your quality remixes. A very unique take on a well-worn classic, and masterfully executed!
Now, can you make Queen's 'Made In Heaven' and 'Born To Love You' sound like they're from the 80s? :D
@Kacio, there is no accounting for tastes. If a mussel doesn't open, don't eat it ;-)
@The Ghost of Lester Burnham, thank you very much for your kind words. As for MiH and BTLY... hey they originally ARE from the 80s on Freddie's solo album! ;-) But seriously it could be painful work and not sure if I get a decent result without the stems.
Fantastic work, well done! I especially love the instrumental version and the way in which a new track has been created using parts of other Queen tracks. Perhaps some Freddie vocals from other sources, live, b-sides, demos etc could fit in to create an entirely new track. Anyway, good stuff.
Excellent work, Piotre! This is certainly very original, and must have taken a lot of time and patience.
I just wonder, though, if you considered slowing down the backing track slightly, to better match the vocal? It does sound quite noticeably speeded up in places.
Can't wait to hear what comes next! :)
Thanks Lord :-) Yeah, maybe someday I will revisit this remix a bit on the occasion of the next remix album ;-) I still have some ideas but have to find a lot of free time :-)
Thanks for that !
Wow - A/Bing those two versions of the image really highlights how much quality is lost in YouTube uploads, even in 1080p. Whatever it says it is, it ain't HD.
