WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER (Freddie's vocal version)
Taken from 'A KIND OF MAGIC' unofficial 2016 2 CD expanded edition
as part of the EXPANDED STUDIO COLLECTION project.
I've just downloaded the collection and having read the text file as to what's included and why, all I can say is "WOW!".
This is certainly a worthwhile project and I'll be looking out for future ones from you!
Wow, what I can say.... for many time I try to clean the stem from Higlander of WWTLF but nothing good. You do it !!
great job, like the KIND OF MAGIC 2016. great idea for the 30 anniversary of the album.
great idea and great job.

No. You can compare to find the answer, don't you?
This is a great mix, but I have just compared this with C Matt's version, and in my opinion, C Matt's has the edge.
I know it's picky, but there are a couple of 'esses' missing from the Freddie intro on this mix - "There's no time for u..." rather than "us", and the same also in the second line. The drums sound brighter on C Matt's version, and he has got a very powerful sound where the last chorus starts at 3:15, which, while your version is probably closer to the original, I miss here, having heard C Matt's mix.
So, well done, and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of your project, but don't be surprised to have your mixes compared to C Matt's, which, in many cases, are benchmark versions of these tracks, and will be difficult to improve on. :)

Thanks for your comment. Actually I don't compete anyhow with C_Matt.
Both versions (Matt's and mine) are different animals.
C_Matt's version is the complete remix (revision) with improved clarity, stereofield etc...
Mine version is the reconstruction of the track to feature alternate Freddie's vocals.
I recreated the first part of the song using ALL alternate vocals by Freddie from the Highlander movie.
The second part of the song is the mixture of officially released album and single version. No any remixing of the loud part. So the sound of the drums is as it was in the original 1986 mix.
BTW, both missing 'esses' are very quiet on the original, so it is very much possible that Matt restore them from different places.
