That is epic!!! Love classic era Metallica.
Only one thing with this though...
Seems like no mention of, what was problery the vital key to that speed sound of kill em all and Metallicas distinct sound.... Dave Mustaine!!.
Would have been a perfect opportunity to not only acknowledged Daves huge... and I mean huge input he had in creating the blueprint for Kirk to follow... (they were only a week away from studio recording when he got fired) also Ron McGoveny who also left not too long before.. and that is by including their life till leather recording while they were still in the band.
In 2015 The Scorpions rereleased 6 albums. There were about 5 songs per album we've never heard before, some unreleased live performances, demos and unfinished songs, at least three video footages of full concerts (one in much better quality, than the bootleg, another one is more complete, than bootleg version) probably every music videos they could release and interviews with band's members.
Wich guides me to a different discussion we should start in a different thread. The Scorpions are still doing music...recently written music. The songs are somehow equal to their old stuff. The Scorpions have changed members in the past...and they are still doing their thing. Rog and Bri....erm...suffering in that category...
The 2011 remasters were dreadful in terms of unreleased additional tracks baring the odd gem here and there. The Hammersmith release must have been some sort of sick joke. I wonder how many people paid through the roof the deluxe box set for 1 unreleased track (which the majority who did buy it wouldn't be able to play as it was on vinal) and a f=+¥ing balloon? I seriously hope QPL have learnt there lesson from this! Doubtful though. Hyde Park grass anyone?
I kind of agree.
But...Queen put out a lot more albums with the same line up than most bands over the same time period. Are there really that many more songs? Theres already filler on most albums.
I cant see how they could do a truly ultra deluxe box set for every single album.

There is? I sure don't think so.

I can see it. Greg has already played many alternate and early versions at fan clubs in the past of songs from various albums. Between live performances, alt studio versions, demos, etc, I'm sure they could easily come up with deluxe editions of every album if they wanted to.

The filler really started with Jazz. 50% of the songs aren't good enough to have been on earlier albums.
I don't understand the dislike for Jazz, it's in my top three. The only fillers are Roger's two misfires.
Back to the OP, I'll be picking up MOP and AJFA when they come out. They look great. As per a previous post the Queen 2011 reissues were shite.
Filler is a weird one because people take songs they don't like and call them filler. I don't think there was any filler up to NOTW, because they were always trying to create new ideas, but on Jazz, which is still great, I'd say If you can't beat 'em and Fun It are worthier of filler, not killer rating. The former seems like John Deacon heard Do 'Ya by ELO and recorded it his way, and the latter is catchy but not too inspiring. I know Roger hates both of his contributions on Jazz, but More of the Jazz is a really complicated piece with tons of great guitars. End is naff though.
In fact... the bonus sections of the 2011 re-issues weren't the big deal as awaited but on the other side, they never ment to be such propper box sets like these from Metallica. Without any questions, they are amazing but who knows... perhaps the next deal of QP? Deluxe box sets of every Queen album... why not?!
What really is funny is the fact that there were plan in the early 90s to release a couple of box sets with a couple of albums....
Seems others did like the idea
BTW I love Metallica as well and I will buy these sets, they look great!!!!
Those are great box set releases (I've already ordered both) BUT I don't believe any of these recording groups (Metallica, QUEEN, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson) that there are not a good many more unreleased tracks, demos, varations, instrumentals, acapellas, jams, what have you than they admit to. So I don't consider much of anything by anybody (whatever types of archival projects that have been done) at this point in history to be definitive or complete. Oh, and I fucking HATE digi-packaging. That's pussy bull shit! Not only is that bullshit but there is NO artwork on those digi-packages. So these are by no means perfect box sets...I wonder if they are limited editions like the Led Zeppelin ones are, eh?

The only time I have ever heard this song on the radio is when Slash appeared on Radio 2 in the UK and credited it as his favourite Queen song, due to the intricate guitar arrangement.
The mash up of them was and or is brilliant and sticks out as a moment of brilliance in their catalog ESPECIALLY with Roger doing lead vocals which is SO amazing!!!
