Denmark '79 video
| guild93 22.03.2016 03:01 |
Some posted WWRY from this show on youtube but it was soon removed, did anyone rip a copy? |
| Chinwonder2 22.03.2016 03:42 |
Wait, I don't think I saw this, who's channel was it on? -Chin |
| . 22.03.2016 04:43 |
Denmark? |
| Biggus Dickus 22.03.2016 05:12 |
Too bad I didn't download it. It was only 26 seconds long though. |
| hermenegildo 22.03.2016 06:13 |
And more Earls Court 2nd night...and Roger Daltrey's rehersal for FM tribute... |
| . 22.03.2016 07:41 |
Where and when was Denmark gig in 1979? |
| Chief Mouse 22.03.2016 08:10 |
Perhaps you meant Rotterdam, Netherlands? |
| Biggus Dickus 22.03.2016 08:20 |
Chief Mouse wrote: Perhaps you meant Rotterdam, Netherlands?I guess Danish/Dutch can sound kind of same. Queen played in Denmark during the NOTW-tour, but that new clip was definitely from Jazz-era. |

Ostsee |
| Bob Harley 22.03.2016 09:43 |
BTW is this short clip from Munich '79 or Rotterdam? I believe some more footage from Rotterdam should exist. link And isn't it strange that someone uploaded a thing which is rare as hell and removed it? I think it was removed because of copyrights (property of Queen Productions) or some collector wanted to check if someone will watch it and write about it and he's reading it and eating popcorn. Whatever. The question is why this person did it? |
| DepeX 22.03.2016 11:08 |
Well, technically he removed also some new Earls Court that he had put about 1 hour before. |
| Hangman_96 22.03.2016 11:30 |
What makes you think it was filmed in Denmark when they didn't even play a single concert in that country in 1979 to begin with? And then, why the Netherlands? Its quality was way too good for that of the existing Rotterdam footage, let alone the angles didn't match. It might very well come from Tokyo because the video and sound quality are identical, but we need the video back to investigate further. |
| DepeX 22.03.2016 11:58 |
^ Comparing the audio it cannot be 25th April 1979 (the common Tokyo footage). |
| Hangman_96 22.03.2016 12:17 |
DepeX wrote: ^ Comparing the audio it cannot be 25th April 1979 (the common Tokyo footage).I thought so too, but I didn't manage to compare it to any concert in time since it got removed too quickly. From what I remember, and mind you, I watched the video only once, John was wearing a black shirt with long sleeves whereas on April 25th he was in one with short sleeves. April 24th maybe? The quality was pretty much corresponding to the April 25th footage, which leads me to believe that it could be a Japanese gig. |

Anyone remembers the Youtube channel? I use aTube catcher to download from YT. It's very user friendly, and i have it because i like to prevent things like this from happening. When i see something rare, i grab it ASAP. |
| Bad Seed 22.03.2016 17:23 |
It was apparently from Kiel Germany 18/1/79. Danish television broadcast |
| kosimodo 22.03.2016 17:35 |
DR is state tv, so well organised.. Lets dig into what they have from kiel :) Any Danes here? |

kosimodo wrote: DR is state tv, so well organised.. Lets dig into what they have from kiel :) Any Danes here? True, DR is the Danish state-run TV. But I tried looking at their archives 2 years back, and they're locked down. Only way to actually have them search for stuff is if you were in the program yourself, and you want a personal copy. |

He posts in Queenzone, so maybe he will be able to clarify what it was. |

It was Ostseehalle, Kiel |
| Nitroboy 23.03.2016 10:14 |
The Kurgan wrote: It was Ostseehalle, Kiel Are you sure? Chinwonder seems to have provided pretty good evidence that it's the last Paris show. Audio and movements matching. |
| . 23.03.2016 10:21 |
The YouTube upload was labelled Ostsee |
| Chinwonder2 23.03.2016 10:43 |
|
| . 23.03.2016 11:03 |
Looks like he labelled it wrong then, definitely said Ostsee. Perhaps he does this to get the correct venue info. |
| Hangman_96 23.03.2016 11:29 |
So this means that the Paris footage is indeed multi-cam, as we saw multi-cam bits of footage only in The Champions but not anything else from what's popped up in the following 37 years. It would be interesting to know where Sikke's video comes from. |
| Nitroboy 23.03.2016 11:40 |
Kiel / Paris aside... Where does the Denmark (Danish Radio) tag stem from? There's no DR logo on the video. |
| Chinwonder2 23.03.2016 12:03 |
Where ever it can feom, it's great footage! -Chin |
| Chinwonder2 23.03.2016 12:16 |
Then again, it could be just a major coincidence that they are similar. |

| Nitroboy 23.03.2016 16:50 |
No DR logo, or anything to indicate this is from a Danish broadcast. |
| Mr.QueenFan 23.03.2016 17:32 |
^^^ Thank you for the link Nitroboy and Kurgan for the upload. It is indeed great footage. |
| The Real Wizard 23.03.2016 21:28 |
Great stuff - thanks, everyone. Did anyone manage to rescue the two songs from the second night at Earls Court? |
| pittrek 24.03.2016 04:15 |
I have no clue what Sikke uploaded but if it's the same as the video Kurgan uploaded it really looks like Paris |
| Hangman_96 24.03.2016 09:23 |
It's filmed from the same angle as a bit of the last chorus of WATC from March 1st: link (0:06-08) This piece of footage of Freddie sitting at the piano and singing Bohemian Rhapsody should be from this angle as well: link |

Does anyone have the exact time of the Danish transmission? If so, I think we have an opportunity to get into the archives. A fellow Danish Queen fan of mine told me he has got a family member who is working there. Anyone? |
| Hangman_96 25.03.2016 11:19 |
So the Paris shows were broadcast on Danish TV? Or did I miss the whole point? |

OK, somebody uploads videos for a few hours and then deletes them. Then others who have downloaded them let everyone else know, but don't re-upload them for others to see. Are they all shit scared of something? |
| Doga 29.03.2016 12:58 |
Most likely is a "trade" thing, the video was uploaded to show everybody the gig is available, and then proceed to exchange it for something else. |
| BETA215 29.03.2016 13:02 |

Also - someone posted two minutes of uncirculated 1977 pro footage nearly two months ago, and not a single reply? This is pretty incredible stuff (Deacon's singing notwithstanding). |
| Barry Durex 22.05.2016 05:34 |

Because the cameras were zoomed in? |
