Thanks for the share! :)
Could you also please post the raw file (pre-youtube) in the Announce section? I could try to improve it to make it look better.
.
^ Damn.
How do you restore those natural colours to Deacons face? It doesn't look like there is much information for the software to gather from the footage itself - do you put it in by hand?

Look more closely Oscar, it's a complete restoration. The Wall for example has the same incorrect colours imo.
Thank you so much for this upload!
This is just wonderful, it is the best interview i've seen Freddie give on TV. Almost 40 minutes of pure honesty from the genius. There are lots of great things to point out from this interview, but i will let others discover it for themselves.
But i really feel that the minute 19min until 20min is one of the deepest things ever said about music by a composer:
"I never let a song down! The song comes first".
Absolute genius!
Thanks. Very good interview indeed. it struck me though that he talks so much about message songs and how he can't write them, almost forgetting that just a year earlier he released one with Queen. "Is this the world..." was probably the closest he ever got to writing a message song.
Many thanks for all your comments and sorry for the late reply but I have someone very poorly in hospital at the moment. I agree it is one of Freddie's best interviews and he was very open. Hope to upload some more vids soon!

I hope that the person in the hospital recovers and that everything will be alright for that person and the family.

Nicely done !
But where is this Deacon footage from? The video in this thread is a 40 minute interview with Freddie.

It's merely a random example of what could be done to improve this Freddie interview. With this I hoped it would encourage the uploader to share the raw file. The interview in the comparison is from DeeJay TV in 1985, however a much better copy has surfaced since then which you can find in the Announce section.
Fantastic interview! Not only does Freddie mention Ella Fitzgerald (my favourite female vocalist), also does he praise john Lennon... Wonderful stuff.
He's so honest in this interview. Love it how he mentions that the scatsinging in living on my own was to "showcase his vocal abilities". He knew very well he had incredible vocal talent. Freddie Mercury certainly had his weaknesses but that voice... Pure gold!
The vocal track from Somebody To Love is the ultimate showcase of his voice IMO. It has a fantastic blend of dynamics that he never matched in the 80's - soft singing, powerful and loud singing, and great falsetto bits.

Ahhh the so-called "The last interview of Freddie Mercury".
