I am not one to want to meet famous people but after loving Queen for over 30 years, it would be incredible to meet Brian and Roger.
I live in South Wales, United Kingdom and this morning, my mate text me to say that "Did you know that Brian May was at Birchgrove Rugby Club yesterday?"
Of course I thought he was having me on but alas, it was true. The Brian May was at the local rugby club (Birchgrove is but a small village).
It was not publicised and apparently he was there I believe relating to oversee a hunt to make sure no animals were hurt.
I am absolutely devastated that Brian May was literally up the road from me, 2 minutes away and I knew nothing about it. There are locals who have put photos on Facebook who said Brian was more than happy to have photos and sign autographs and was nothing short of a gentleman.
Truly gutted not to have met the great man, ask some questions, shake his hand and have a photo. I can only hope he makes the visit again.
Oh wow....I guess that was a Lost Opportunity, perhaps (sorry, couldn't resist)
But yeah, I'd be ticked off if something like that happened to me, especially if it was at a place I often go to, but just wasn't there that day for some reason.
..........reminds me of hearing that Queen played my local ballroom, Sunderland Locarno in '74, a mere quarter of a mile away and I was totally oblivious to their existence, Seven seas was just about to break and history to be made. And I was sitting on my arse watching the telly.
AAAAAAAAAARGHH!!!!!

That sounds life devastating. I would always think of that whenever life is though.
I remember the day that Brian and Roger were visiting the local radio station for an interview; the radio station shares a building with company I was working for at the time so we got advance notice and a few colleagues turned up to meet them at the door, got autographs, pics etc........it was the day that my daughter was being christened and so I couldn't go.....!!!!
That's a pity - missed opportunities always are.
But at least you can derive some comfort from knowing that, probably, in one universe or another, you did manage to go to the club and you did meet Brian.
At least that's what many quantum physicists now theorise - that whatever happens is happening because every possibility is taking place in one of the infinite universes in the multiverse.
So while in this one you didn't meet Brian, in all likelihood you did meet him in another universe.
And Freddie's alive and kicking in a few of those universes as well.
A few years ago I read after the fact that Brian visited the University of Florida astronomy dept for an award ceremony. I work 100 yards from there and knew nothing. Had I known I probably would have done nothing, bell I'm as old as he is now. Still.....

Really?
But yes of course, when like its raining today, who cares I missed that show or you aint got no money for the moment, it doesn't matter because I missed the show. U see
I live near Munich...( half an hour ride) I've became a Queen-Fan in 1985...in hindsight...and knowing that they were frequenting regular local bars and discos. Bad luck, bad luck at all.

That place is (or was at least) very close to me as well, although I wasn't even alive in 1974 so it doesn't really affect me lol.
