Just heard.
He'd just been touring with a rag tag group of ppl I used to work with (they thought they were superstars cause they filled in dead time at the whiskey)
Sucks.
Can't say you didn't see it coming.
Supposedly his brother died from a heart issue as well.of force of course drugs can weaken the muscle after years of abuse.
Hell of a talent. You might not pin this one on Brian's curse. After all. .. he routinely stole Freddie's onstage schtick n outfits
Sad indeed...I never get around with Stone Temple Pilots music style...I've tried but it didn't work out for me.
The german media claimed that there was cocaine in the room with his body. I think Weiland himself said the media, that he overcome his H-addiction...the rest is for speculation of course.
Yeah but cocaine is not heroin. I'd imagine that coke strains your heart much more. Grew up with them as well as (old at the time) 70's rock. And given the work of the DiLeo brothers they sounded very much in the vein of Beatles , zep, queen like everyone else. (Particularly on stuff from Tiny music from the Vatican onwards)
they were a damn fine group.
His solo album sold like hotcakes back then and it was pretty good as well.
I figure getting the boot is eventually what got him. (Personal anger towards losing/being rejected from "his" band... replaced with Linkin park crapperoo)
Then again. ... recurring drug habits.
One things almost certain. .... bigger sales of STP merchandise.
Hopefully he didn't go out on the junk like "silvergun Superman"
"Couldn't hide, write a wave, ride a line. ..."

^ for all you silly Queen fans who call Rolling Stone a rag, just because they had writers who didn't like Queen back in the 70s.
This is one of the best articles you'll ever read.

Yes. It's a good article; but it owes NOTHING to Rolling Stone.
Rolling stone IS a shit rag. This heartfelt letter is a sad articulate letter from family. Good for them for publishing it on their website. Maybe it'll make print. But the mag is a step away from a teen rag with cologne ads.
If you want proof skip around to the last interview with Scott Weiland. ... he looks visibly disappointed by the idiotic questions the seemingly ignorant "REPORTER" issues him. ... idiotic teen fan questions about "what he'd do in a zombie apocalypse" and "yeah I can see your Bowie influence"... nothing of depth gleaned from it but Scott's shot at the interviewer (probably hired for her bj's or through nepotism) when he asks " what was that John Lennon song? " (meaning Merry Xmas (war is over))
He looks disappointed that he'd been given this goober to interview him with absolute moronic childish crud.
Not to mention they frequently throw reality television "stars" and Kardashian krap all over the mag.
It's a piece of crap because it's become one. Not cause someone didn't like Queen 20 years ago
