I can't wait to see Hyde Park in proper quality. It's to my knowledge the only pro-shot and pro-recorded 70's concert that's not currently available in decent (mainly audio) quality. Also it has such a nice and interesting selection of songs. Way more excited for that than for Earls Court or Jazz concerts for example, because we have those in much better quality. Only concert that can compete is Hammy 79, because they were just so damn good. |

Oscar J wrote: Way more excited for that than for Earls Court or Jazz concerts for example, because we have those in much better quality.we only have 15 minutes worth of footage from the 2nd Earl's Court show and none of the pro Jazz stuff circulating is complete, so I think the prospect of those being officially released is still pretty exciting. Up until recently I haven't been too excited about Hyde Park being released but after hearing the matrix available here that all changed. I can't wait for it to be released next year. |

My tip for a "super de luxe edition" - CD + LP : full concert - DVD + SD Blu-ray : full concert, an hour long documentary hosted by Bob Harris, featuring his interview with Brian from 1976 (OGWT), and all the pre-concert / post-concert footage, maybe even the opening bands if they have the footage and will have their permissions - concert programme reproduction - ticket reproduction - poster reproduction - a book with all the photos they can find, including audience photos and the Japanese photos which appeared in Music Life - a T-shirt |

If the progression from Rainbow --> Hammersmith '75 is an indication, a Hyde Park box-set would look something like this: - 2 CD (with at least one song miraculously cut out, but offering an additional 4 minutes of crowd-noise before the music starts) - DVD + BluRay (not the one or the other, oh heavens, no) - Deluxe book (all pages blank) - Bag of dried grass from Hyde Park (first 1000 numbered copies also get a vial of mud) - Bonus DVD: "Hyde Park: Audience Perspective" - the full concert (minus that one song) in audio with video of the sky over Hyde Park. Stage not visible. - Signed Adam Lambert photograph - Reproduction tickets, buttons and the like. Upon closer examination, these turn out to be from the Queen + AL tour. The price will, of course, be 399 pounds (€559 / $615). |

I was at this gig. There were no tickets and even though I've just found a reproduction of the programme on Queenconcerts, there must have been very few printed. They weren't being given out at the gates because there was no entrance to the gig. Add to that virtually no security. The park was open and you could come or go as you liked but once you were there that was it really - to move from where you were would have meant losing your place. I remember turning round and seeing how far the crowd stretched back - amazing sight... |

Yes,I'm aware of the live version of YTMBA on the 2011 A day at the races. Beautiful sound on that. Well,it looks like we can all look forward to Live at Hyde Park next year then. Boy,that's something to get excited about. I wonder how much trickery (autotune) and the like they'll use on The Prophet's Song? Plus Freddie's vocal delay bit in the middle didn't work. I suppose that'll be Magicly repaired? Just a thought, what are people's opinion on these types of 'repairs' or 'restoration ' (to use QPL terms, lol) |

If the video footage is perfect, we'll happily live with a stereo soundboard mix - after all, they don't have all the multitracks for their studio albums, but it didn't stop them "remastering" the stereo masters and releasing them all back in 2011.... |

It's a fact that either Hyde or Knebworth park will be released next year if we take into account the way they have managed to get things out in the last 2 years. Either concert would have a great reception by fans since none of them have had a proper release to date. |

This whole topic is just speculation....so I add mine... They could put out a '76 show even if we do think it will make not too much sense after shows from '74 and '75. If they do not have the Knebworth Video (I would not doubt them) they could still release a '30 years of Magic' package with recordings and videos from all over the tour. There must be plenty of Video snippets and some more concert recordings in the vaults. Maybe the would link it with a new release of Live Magic. |

The quality of the video from HP available is horrible, not to mention the audio. A new remix would be nice. Regarding knebworth park, GB already confirmed that only footage of the big screen exists, which is the same thing Brian said back in 2004 when talking about the way live aid was recorded and how it could not be edited just like Knebworth park. Then some time after that he said it was not recorded (?) and then after that GB confirmed the existence of the jumbotron footage. Apart from that they could gather all the tv stations footage available if they cannot edit the angles + use all the footage doro recorded. At least one of their cameras recorded from the 1st minute and another joined in from Hammer to fall to the end of the show + the helicopter shots and preconcert footage. Also they could throw in the footage from Newcastle, There were a couple of cameras recording the show that they. Does anybody now how much was recorded of that concert?? |
Doga 03.11.2015 15:30 |
Even if they can pull all that i still prefer Hyde Park '76 over Knebworth '86. Three shows in video and audio plus half of the Knebworth officially released is enough for one tour, i think. (and the soundboard of Mannheim). Hyde Park was their first big outdoor show and includes a lot of songs from Opera and Races. If they have the film or the tapes in good shape they should release that. |

Besides, the new (lovely) policy of Queen Productions is releasing a show for its 40 anniversary, so after Rainbow and Hammersmith naturally comes Hyde Park. The question is, what are they going to release in 2018? To my limited knowledge they didn't film a show in 1978, so maybe a fixed Earl's Court in 2017 and Houston in 2018? |

They have lots of backstage footage from Rainbow - not released. They have both full November nights from Rainbow - they released just a mix of 2 nights. They have the longer footage from Tokyo 75 - they released just the same cut they released before. They have the full soundcheck from Hammersmith Odeon 75 - they will release just one track on the insanely expensive box set plus a few seconds of a second song in a documentary. What makes you think that they will release some gems from 1978? I personally am sceptical, but I hope I will be wrong. |
