"I then bought the house and remaining land from Patrick and leased it back to him for a peppercorn rent, so he never had to worry about money again."
^ that's literally one of the most generous things I've ever heard of. Bravo to the good doctor for that one.
It also makes sure the house is in secure hands: No need for sudden sale for death duties. So if Brian and friends wanted to make it a museum or similar they could.

I believe that's been looked into but wasn't possible. Planning constraints and location I think.
Brian is such a gentleman. And he has an appreciation that certain things are important beyond their monetary value.
In the late 1990s Sir Patrick Moore visited my school in Malta. I remember seeing this big man with strange specs, looking very wise - I had no idea how well known he was. He gave us a short lecture. Very interesting guy.
There's a vid on YouTube where Moore interviews a man who speaks "Venusian". It's quite funny. What's remarkable is that Moore manages to maintain his seriousness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjpcZPT1-NA
True gentlemen exist!
I feel uplifted after reading this.
Wish someone could write a song for Brian, just like he has written several great ones about his fellow artists.
