Does anyone know of any good BD authoring software that's easy to use and allows the inclusion of chapter points and the ability to access those chapter points through a menu please?
If it's freeware, that's even better! LOL
Many Thanks.
I use Corel Video Studio (version 4), it does all that, very easy to use too. I've also added a plug-in called Mercalli for anti-shake (good for when processing youtube clips in particular). You can also make multi-angle videos with it.
Thanks Guild93. I eventually found Nero Video which does the job quite nicely.
Will have a look at Corel though to see if it's got some better features.

Why Blu Ray?
MKV is much better.
Because not everyone wants to watch material on their computers and they either don't have Smart TV's or media Players to play mkv files to their TV sets.
Some folks do actually like a disc with menus and chapter points.

Good points.
MKV however, enables you to combine the best possible video quality with the best possible audio quality. No need to use that horrible MPEG codec.
Also, MKV can have chapters too. Very easy to make.
Finally, there are standalone blu ray players that play MKV files
straight from a bluray disc.

What mpeg codec?
Yes, I know all that. Been using multiavchd for doing bluray discs for around 6 years now using a mixture of ts files, m2ts, mkv's etc, but it's a pain in the ass for anything other than basic menus or first play and I needed something simple that could create chapter menus. THAT was the point. Chapter MENU's. mkv files don't have menus for selecting songs and that's what many people still want.
Heaven forbid if you bought a disc from a shop and all it had on was a video file with no menu....
Personally I've been quite happy playing files back on my WDTV (and now smart TV) for years, but when other people want stuff from me they want it on disc. I've given up trying to convert them to using media players with content stored on hard drives.
