I was watching Nitroboy's edit of this show again and later I rewatched the Rare Live clips on the official YouTube channel. I was wondering if anyone knows if the QUEEN and 9 watermarks are on the master copy of the video and that's why they couldn't be removed for Rare Live or if it was another case of whoever made RL not using the best available sources. Also was the show multitracked? Is the narrator chatter on the master copy of the soundboard? Is it a mono version of a stereo recording or was it recorded in mono? I basically wanna know this stuff so I can be able to hold out some real hope that someday maybe this show and/or the shows from the 2/28 and 3/8 might be officially released someday.
Well Doro used also the "Champions US" tv special for the paris bits.
So yes Argentina 81 was taken from a inferior source.
It was 1987 Internet did not excist. Fax and a telephone index was al one had.
If my sources aren't lying, the REALLY ORIGINAL mastertape was burnt in a library who had a really lot of important footage and culture (unique films, lost books and paintings). All due to the censorship available in the 80's in Argentina thanks to the crisis we were having (military dictators).
That original mastertape (surely a Betamax) had the footage without Badia's speech (narrator) and the raw video without any logo.
That '9' logo you see it's the logo of Canal 9 (the logo which the channel used in those times), the QUEEN logo you see was put by Canal 9 for the people to know who they were, and QTV means Queen TeleVision, just a sign for the videos shown on conventions.
You may find some versions without the QTV logo, recorded from the first 1981 live streaming, or from the 199(1 or 2) rebroadcast (which doesn't includes Get Down Make Love due to the mentioned censorship).
And, in those times, stereo audio wasn't available in Argentina for TV, so it was streamed in mono.
The only person/group that may have the raw version is QPL, and it seems like they didn't have it from the beginning (in full form, I mean).
I know of only one complete version without the QTV logo.
I don't mean versions that have had it ''removed'', but where it wasn't present in the first place.
It still came from a QTV broadcast and the quality is very good.
My question is, are there any other decent copies of the full broadcast around without the QTV logo?

The actual master tape has two audio tracks and the logo.
2 audio tracks? Interesting. Is one of them just the band?
2 audio tracks: One of the band itself (It's a soundboard + audence mix, all on one stereo tape) and Another only with the commentator (J. Badía) audio.
The master tape is an U-matic (well, 3 U-matics indeed. 2 from the gig, and another with "unknown" content.)

A time ago i bought three U-Matics tapes, the first two says "Queen C9 I", "Queen C9 III" and the other "Q. Par./Entr.". They aren't (physicaly) in a good shape. I don't know what they contain since i haven't an u-matic player. I'm searching for one here in Arg... if i can play them and if is something worth... i'll share here.
So somebody claims to have some tapes but doesn't know what's on them or have the means to find out?
Another person also claims to have access to the master tapes, but that's as far as they go.
Quite frankly it all sounds like bollocks to me.
The youtube clip below is from a raw betamax transfer of the complete 118 minute Canal 9 broadcast shown on QTV.
No blurry blobs where QTV logos were removed, cos they weren't there to start with.
Show me a better video sample from the complete broadcast and I'll be impressed, until then it's all hearsay.
