Can someone tell why when you listen LMagic the band sound "distant"..while when u listen Wembley or Budapest as well is like if they play in the room you are ?
Is because it was recorded in a Park and not in a stadium?
Is for the remaster?..I think live Magic was never remastered..but for istance Under Pressure from Knebworth released in 1997 if you compared with the version of Wembley of the song there is a great difference from sound.
In wembley or Budapest everything seems louder and near.
Probably it's down to the person who mixed it and the way he mixed it. I'd like to think that's the case but I really don't know anything about this field.

That's exactly what i think.
Even if it sound less louder i'll take the mix of Live Magic over Wembley or MK Bowl anyday.
Yeah it's just about the mix. I am very very fond of Live Magic. I didn't know any better so it was a great 'complete' concert in my mind. Hard to see the flaws even now. Much more punchy than Wembley as all the fat is cut out. All I'd change is add the opera section back in (that really jars!) and maybe keep the IWTBF intro intact. I literally thought the band was all quiet and made everyone single the first line. Ah the naivety of youth.
It's should technically be a companion to Live Killers in the same way Bowie's David Live and Stage ('74 and '78) are both 17 track albums that have no tracks duplicated between them. Live Magic may have a bit more oomph in the catalogue if it were like that. Adding those tunes that were played on the '86 tour not on Live Killers (ITLOTG...R, Tear It Up, CLTCL, WWTLF, Tutti Fruiti) would've been nice. But dropping TYMD, BR, WWRY etc would obviously be nuts.
No. I was shocked and crestfallen at such a cynical cashing in operation while they were riding the crest of a wave as regards popularity and butchering their art. Queen circa '73-'80 (ish) would never have got it so wrong.
Some of the tracks from Live Magic, esp. the Knebworth ones have a better sounding mix than Wembley which is "fat" and all the voices aren't that clear. It's astonishing how superior is the Friday gig mix than the Saturday one. Of course Live Magic is butchered and they should've used more tracks from different gigs but can we be sure that all the gigs from The Magic Tour were professionally recorded (audio) ?
I'm curious who had the last word back in the day when they were deciding how Live Magic will look like.
Bought the CD in 86, played it, I remember being frustrated at all the edits and omissions. Eventually sold the CD. I have every album (live, studio and solo), but not Live Magic.

Agreed - a remastered Live Magic now (which was planned for 2011) would blow the socks off the Wembley audio mix - the Knebworth stuff especially sounds great. Was LM another Dave Richards mixed album??
I think to discover how it would sound remastered, we will have to wait until next year. Next year marks 2 Queen Anniversaries. Hyde Park and Knebworth Park. I hope they keep up this new fashion of releasing Live material matching it with its anniversary. I would love to see and listen to Knebworth park or Hyde park, now those are 2 concerts that NEVER were properly released.
On the side if they want, they can also release Q+AL Stuff.
"Next year marks 2 Queen Anniversaries"
Pretty much every day for the next god knows how many years marks some sort of Queen anniversary you optimistic fool...
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Made in Heaven, as well as the 10th anniversary of Q+PR. Guess we should be expecting anniversary releases of that as well????
