There are some fair comparisons to be drawn between Gillan and another screamer/wailer.... rhymes with Eggbert.
I was just reading a Black Sabbath Biography and it had occurred to me that I could ACCESS dozens of live bootlegs via the internet (these days without paying bootleggers a ton of money)....
Although the album (BORN AGAIN) wasn't GREAT ...it had its moments of greatness:
Thrashed, Born Again, Zero The Hero, Digital Bitch (to a lesser extent)
the MIXING however, was HORRIBLE... I'm not certain whether that has been remedied after the 40 some years.
(can you imagine that? still being talked about after 40 years)
anyways... I recently listened to a live recording.. It was actually a more fitting bit than some other singers....and WELL.... the WAILING gets a bit tiresome for me sometimes... kinda like Lambert.
But oddly enough... He seemed to cover the Ozzy years pretty well.
Nobody can really touch DIO with his grace at such a high register, but I was really shocked that the concerts don't ALL sound horrible. link
^ this one especially sounds good. Could be from the location of the recorder, it's obviously been clipped.
And despite having cheesy keyboards that almost sound like HORNS on IRON MAN... it's not horrible. They ACTUALLY merged the band influences pretty well.
Had anyone on this site seen Sabbath with Gillan?
I'm curious....
Did they set up the "STONEHENGE" monument for the show you attended?
was the show awful or exciting?
Nah. That methodology of typing was used by Asian teenagers when I was in high school.

It quickly faded away within a few years. However, I tend to fluctuate caps and regular text for emphasis when the coding doesn't work to include bracketed html code within these posts. So instead of [A BOLD BRACKET] I'll add CAPS. Its hardly jarring imho. What's the big deal? I had even re- arranged the original post using the "edit" button here, However it turned into another post for no apparent reason.
Thinking that it was a duplicate, I deleted it. Unfortunately I deleted the wrong one. I'd mentioned people's criticism and noted that my posts may look incongruous when read on a pc. But, when viewed from a movie device it all looks fine. I don't feel comfortable continuing strings of sentences if they are not really subjectively appropriate for each paragraph. There are basic rules regarding grammar and paragraphs, but of course there are exceptions done for effect.
I figured there might be more responses considering it was a band that had a revolving door singer. I feel most of them worked. All but the Glenn Hughes effort on Tony Iommi's intended solo project SEVENTH STAR
