Can ayone elaborate on this?
I remember reading that he may used steroids when he had problems with his vocal chords during tours.
Also in the "AIDS-phenomenal voice" era there was some reference here, that drugs ( not necessarily steroids) may have helped. Especially on some super-human performances like Show Must Go On.
When we are talking singers and steroids are we taling about Cortizone ?
Is it some popular rescue technique for singers in bad days having to sing ?

=====================
Those steriods were not just steriods, they were parts/ingredients of the cocktails / AZT- drugs he used to take when fighting the AIDS disease.
^Good point. Freddie must have been on quite a large array of medications during The Miracle and Innuendo eras, and a lot of these would have been specifically for his symptoms (rather than the virus itself), so some might have had a contribution to his voice.

I know that Rod Stewart used steroids occasionally.
I was at a Manic Street Preachers concert were James Dean Bradfield took some during the show.
Was some sort of spray.
He joked about it, later in the show.
