Source: Multishow HD Lineage: Local cable TV operator > Receiver > PC HD > TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Rendering 4 (cutting) I got this via a person who prefers to remain anonymous. It's not the same source as the ones floating around on Piratebay. This is a TV cap which preserves the interlacing so it's really 60i rather than 29.97fps (very nice if you have a smart TV/Roku/WDTV that can play this). There are 3 audio tracks in this source, a 5.1 AC3 and 2x 192kbps MP2; details below. Warning: I have not had time to QC this so I have not checked for glitches etc. It's been a while since I've posted a torrent here so hope I did it correctly. Interlaced? Brilliant! I've just finished downloading the 16gb de-interlaced version from Dime and now this pops up! It's amazing that when Q&AL played iHeart radio at the start of the year, only ONE person capped it, yet there's been a few capping Rio, Let's hope it stays that way. The more people at it, the better the chance of not missing anything. There's far too many people who are not prepared to make an effort to record and share. |

I've had a look at this now and sadly, with the filesize being what it is), the quality isn't as good as the 1080p version at the higher bitrate. There's clear artefacting on this version (damn shame because I prefer interlaced video over de-interlaced anyday). That's not to say it isn't a good picture, but some folks have been asking what the quality differences were between the two. Terraj. Do you know if this is the actual transmission stream or whether it's been re-encoded to a smaller filesize for 'ease of uploading'? As a typical fan though, I'll be keeping both! COMING SOON: (I hope!) The Buenos Airies gig is being broadcast on internet radio, so hopefully someone over there will be able to cap that and share... :) |

brians wig wrote: (damn shame because I prefer interlaced video over de-interlaced anyday). But why? Do you actually prefer to watch videos with horizontal lines? Or you have a CRT monitor / TV? When I watch stuff on my PC those interlace lines are just distracting. They don't add anything to the picture. But if you have a CRT screen then I suppose you don't even see them. Each time I watch something I have to deinterlace it with VLC real-time which is not the best quality option. I rather deinterlace it before hand in Avisynth with a plugin like QTGMC(). I assume you might prefer the smoother picture (re, 25 fps interlaced can be deinterlaced to 50 fps progressive (thus twice as smooth motion) which means NO information lost as there are 2 fields per 1 frame). |
queenside 21.09.2015 03:32 |
is this version better than the pirate bay 5,6 gb version? i'm downloading both, that 16 gb version is too big for me cos i like to burn stuff on dvds so 8gb is the biggest file i can get. |

Well bugger me. I wrote a lengthy piece explaining why I like interlaced pictures and the damn thing didn't get included in my reply above. I'm not typing all that out again, but in a nutshell: I watch stuff on a TV screen and having been brought up watching interlaced TV with it's gorgeous "video" look, I can't stand TV material that now looks like it's been shot on film. Even more, I have this OCD that if something was shot on video, THAT'S how I want to watch it. I like to feel like I'm there were the action is, and deinterlaced/film pictures don't allow that. Just have a look round wherever you are now. What do you see? Do your eyes show you an image that looks like it's been shot on video or film? Thought so. That fluid video look is more natural than the filmic look. I like to watch 'natural' looking TV shows and videos and that's why I always clamour for an interlaced picture. |
Chief Mouse 21.09.2015 06:00 |
I get you. Basically you prefer fluidity. And this CAN be done with deinterlacing. 1 frame has 2 fields which means you can make 25 fps interlaced to 50 fps progressive which is what you see on your TV screen. The difference is that it is also that way on my PC monitor then and I don't have to do real-time software deinterlacing with VLC player as I have done it beforehand with higher quality deinterlacer. Your TV essentially does this deinterlacing as well making interlaced picture appear twice as smooth and without lines. At the end we can both watch this 'double FPS' deinterlaced file either on a PC monitor or a TV screen and it would appear the same. So I will always deinterlace my videos and if it's done with the 'double fps' technique then no information is lost and this video can be made back into interlaced format for whatever reason necessary. As for film being 24 fps, I can sacrifice fluidity for the organic and artistic picture film has (and resolution). I personally hate the VHS and video look of the last decades. Nowadays video looks excellent of course, shot with 4K RED cameras and what not. |

I still have another possible source coming, and I'll post it if it's any better than this video. :) More than visual artifacts, audio glitches bug me even more. I just started watching this and noticed a small audio glitch during One Vision at 2:10, and my OCD is driving me to want to fix this glitch, but I'll hold out for possible better sources first ;) |
MackMantilla 21.09.2015 09:06 |
Thanks a lot for sharing this version :) |
terraj 21.09.2015 12:47 |
I decided to try to fix the audio glitch during One Vision as I think it's the only glitch that I could hear after listening through the whole video. I'm not going to reupload the 6GB file, but the fix is an easy one (and thankfully seamless listening through my headphones). If you have VideoRedo, please download the attached Project File. Steps: 1) Open the Project File and you should be prompted to load the video from the torrent 2) Save the TS as a new file. This should trim off 4 extra frames of audio/video (frames #3927-3930, or 2:11.01-2:11.04) that somehow was repeated. Once you do that the audio glitch should be removed. This trimming is almost lossless since VideoRedo supports frame accurate cutting by reencoding only a few frames at the cut point, and not the whole video. ETA: Please refer to my post below for the actual project file. This attachment doesn't work since the forum doesn't allow this file type. |
bootLuca 21.09.2015 13:19 |
I'm trying with the trial version of VideoRedo, but it seems that the attached file is empty... probably it's not possible to attach that file type (as well as FLAC) |

Yes, it works, but unfortunately the trial version truncates the output file to 15 minutes... |

brians wig 21.09.2015 15:41 |
Actually, the 16gb is only marginally better I think than this one. Now that I've compared them both on my TV set, there's still plenty of artefacting in the 16gb version. In the opening slow zoom to the stage, if you look at the blue lights between the stage and the orange tower on the left of the screen, the 16gb version looks perfect whilst the 6.8 version has noticible artefacting, BUT once the concert has started, there's plenty of artefacting on both to the degree that one seems little better than the other. |
popy 21.09.2015 17:25 |
I haven't downloaded yet, but i believe the file is untoched and the source is digital terrestrial television. Normally when recording from DTT the file is in .ts format. |

popy wrote: I haven't downloaded yet, but i believe the file is untoched and the source is digital terrestrial television. Normally when recording from DTT the file is in .ts format.Well a ts file is generally a transmission stream, but when you're transoding a ts stream down to a smaller size you can still keep the .ts tag on the end. I asked because the file size is smaller than I would have expected for a 2 hour concert, but then I'm basing that on UK file sizes for similar events which are nearly twice as much. It may simply be that both versions do come from two different broadcasting sources. |
brians wig 22.09.2015 03:18 |
Queenside. The smaller 6.8 (?)gb version does NOT have 15 seconds of black in it during "Somebody To Love" like the 16gb version does, so that's a bonus. As for audio glitches I can't say. I watched it live via the webstream and that had about 4x millisecond audio dropouts, and as such I don't really need to watch it again in a hurry. I've still got the Motley Crue set to watch and also Aerosmiths new Bluray which I've had for a couple of weeks now and not found time for! I'm sure someone will know, but I wouldn't let the glitches bother you. |

There is a new video source for Rock in Rio, which is almost BluRay quality visually (audio isn't as good as the one I shared here though). Unfortunately, this was not a live broadcast but an edited one so the channel didn't air all songs. The good news is, I think I can merge the videos from the rebroadcast losslessly via with this 6GB version (I've done a test and it works). Will share whenever I'm done with this project. |

I've finished my lossless edit based on these files, but I think the capper might be posting more eventually, so thought I might wait before sharing my edit. I saw that Save Me (YouTube version here), and I think Under Pressure was also broadcast, but he hasn't shared it yet (and he's going to be away for the next 2 weeks I think). If there's enough interest I'll share my edit here (currently 9GB) |
