300m album sales, £85m in the bank - but can you name this low profile rock legend who now wears sensible anoraks and grey trousers? Reclusive former Queen bass player John Deacon pictured out in London Deacon, 64, wrote some of band's biggest hits and is now worth £85million But he looked far cry from flamboyantly-dressed figure who rose to fame Read more: link Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook |

It would be really great news if the UK press leaves him alone! It's his life and it's the way he has choosen to live it. |

Shame. Maybe he'll stop buying the Mail now. |
Martin Packer 19.09.2015 03:05 |
What's his prize for carrying a copy of the Daily Mail and saying the following words to the reporter: "piss off with your intrusiveness" ? :-) |
cmsdrums 19.09.2015 03:36 |
I've gone right off him if he buys The Daily Mail. I don't know what their point is about his attire and boring grey trousers.....at the very height of the band's success he was still wearing tanktops!! |
matt z 19.09.2015 05:43 |
Could It be he's concerned with the Rock In Rio event???????????!!! OMERGOSSSH!!! jk. Funny though.... John walks wearily down the street..... (MAD LIBS) ....with his hair lost long ago? ...his tan line lost long ago? ...with his mail wherever he goes? ...where's his bass? nobody knows ... I dunno. maybe it sucks to be him, but I DO enjoy seeing his pictures now and then. Can't help love the guy, though I've never met him. These f####ers wrote some music that engaged and captivated me in my teens to keep me sorta sane. Can't say I owe them enough. Good to see John, even though he looks as if he's almost harrassed |

As much as I like to see he's well and all that. I also want people to stop stalking him and taking photos of him. |
tomchristie22 19.09.2015 11:05 |
Still, it doesn't happen all that often. This is only the second unsolicited photographing that's been published, isn't it? (If we count the three or so from the previous instance as one occurrence). |

The Daily Heil stalking John, putrid. |
flash00. 19.09.2015 13:13 |
Scummy press stalkers, had he not had a copy of that rag under his arm i think the Daily Mail would of done some nasty story, the fella just wants to be left alone, i still think he keeps an eye in secret on what is going on in with Queen criticizing Bri and Rog maybe haa |
Costa86 19.09.2015 14:10 |
Yeah everyone knows the DM only serves one function - it comes into play when you're out of toilet paper. But they hardly 'stalk' him often, do they? Probably the only time there's been an article completely about him since he was caught with a stripper. I like how the article has gotten thousands of comments though. The more he's been reclusive, the more people are curious about him (and they haven't forgotten him, despite him being the least well-known Queen member). |
mooghead 19.09.2015 14:53 |
The DM gets more hits than any other 'newspaper' on earth. Says more about the general public than the publication, that is why they keep doing what they do.... It has got thousands of comments? Just encouraging them to intrude, which makes people click...... the most vicious of circles.... |
Ivo-1976 19.09.2015 15:24 |
Was he wearing his "going to the strip club" outfit again? |

I agree. John should be left alone. He can't even leave his house in Putney without being photographed. |

Daily Mail: the newspaper that said after Princess Diana's death in 1997 that it would never buy a paparazzi shot ever again. It's website is full of them. Vile newspaper with a vile editor. |

The guy wants to stay out of public focus and we should respect that. |

I don't know, I think John might actually see the funny side of this. The funny side is, he's virtually unknown these days except to Queen fans and some more enthusiastic music lovers. It's not news - John Deacon walking down the street is not news. Queen have been touring for 3 years without John this time round, and 3 years with PR without John 10 years ago. I think he might just go home and say 'Look Veronica, kids, Dad's still famous enough to get a bit of press these days. Now, fancy a Pizza Hut or a Chinese tonight?' |
fras444 25.09.2015 01:15 |
At least I don't feel so self conscious about being 28 and bald haha starting at 19..... My number one "character" is bald like me haha (a word that Queens number one fans the Japanese people would use "who's your favorite character...?") Trying to imagine him now on the four strings... I'm first in line for ONE OF HIS Bass GUITARS MATT!!!!!! Sunburst Fender Precision used on live at the rainbow IS MINE..... |
Ivo-1976 25.09.2015 14:40 |
How I would love to hear John's side of the story. A shame he never gives any interviews. |
noorie 25.09.2015 21:43 |
I think John's reclusive behaviour has just added to the Deacon mystique. Queen fans get thrilled every time there is some news of John. Brian and Roger give numerous interviews and are active on social media, and it is all just meh... But a tiny little snippet about John, and we are trying to read all kinds of meaning into it, or passionately defending him. It reminds me a bit of the thrill I used to get playing Where's Waldo when I was kid, and I actually spotted Waldo. |

stevelondon20 wrote: I agree. John should be left alone. miraclesteinway 26.09.2015 09:29 |
i think if someone asked John Deacon what he thought of Maylor and Adam Lambert touring as Queen, he'd say he wasn't bothered. |
Barry Durex 26.09.2015 10:12 |
Queen Productions would release these sightings on DVD / SD Blu ray, but there are not quite enough extras at present. |
