I was wondering if anybody else has / had seen this lately.
It was a listing on ebay, one which I was bidding on & it was subsequently removed halfway through its listing time. I did a little research & found that Chicory Tip never recorded a song called Queen & also never found anything relating to Trident.
I contacted the seller for a reason for cancelling the sale & his response was '
Hi Craig,
I have been contacted by Richard from the band who says that he doesn't know of this track ever being recorded, casting doubt that this is actually Chicory Tip. Therefore I have cancelled the auction until we can get more info. on the acetate. Richard is popping over in the week to have a listen to it. Hopefully we can sort out if it is them or not. If we can confirm that it is Chicory Tip then I will put it up for auction again.
Regards Adrian '
So quite possibly a lost Acetate?...
here's a pic,
A and B side?
WTF is chicory tip?
Maybe it's hangman or the long lost interview where Freddie states I wish Paul Rodgers to be my successor. He is my favorite singer ever. EVER.
Interesting news though. Wish the seller was more descriptive. Maybe he's unfamiliar with the band
Chicory Tip was a moderately successful band in the 1970s - certainly had one biggish hit single in the UK. Funnily enough, they currently gig in a lot of the venues I do in my local area!
Yep,
This was the reply I got recently...
'Hi,
It turns out that it is Chicory Tip, but without Richard. He contacted Barry in Portugal, and he remembered it being recorded right and the very end of the band being together.
None of the band actually have a copy of the recording, so they are getting some copies made. After that the acetate will be relisted. This probably won't happen for a few week due to everyone being away on holidays.
regards Adrian..'
So i'm afraid its not what we were hoping for.
