There's no need for it. Enjoy today, and as someone said:
Even though I'm forced I'll never say,
all past time was better.
Tomorrow is better.
(In Spanish sounds better)

I won't bring up old threads just for the sake of it, but I will be reading through a lot of them. There's a distinct possibility I can't restrain myself from joining in. If there's a rule against it, please tell me now.
Hello Stoner, it's not a rule, it's just annoying for the regular users. When a user visists he wants to see the current discussion and not revisit old threads. So please don't let it become a habit.
Unless old threads HAVE CLOSURE. .. then I can safely back you up and say. ..WHO GIVES A FUCK.
While accordingly I can say. ... if a topic is meritous for discussion. *favorites etc. .. then who cares. Don't consult them. You ARE ALREADY BEING CORDIAL BY SEARCHING UP "OLD TOPICS" AND NOT STARTING NEW THREADS of the same topic.
That's courtesy enough imo.
Be realistic. Newbies come here as well and don't even bother to search old topics.
C'maaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwn ye assholes, it's not that big a deal.
As a recurring reviver of old threads, I don't see the harm in that. There are quite a few (in my opinion, valid) reasons for it, namely:
1. New 'discoveries' (e.g., Justin Shirley-Smith's comments about the exact dates of recording for 'Mother Love' and 'A Winter's Tale').
2. New perspectives.
3. Some of the stuff discussed earlier might still have some relevance. So it's preferable (for some, myself included) to resume a 10-year-old thread instead of starting a new one about the exact same thing.
Thanks. I like what Sebastian said about new perspectives being a reason to bring up new threads, because I always have a different perspective than everyone else.

Thanks matt z. I'll keep that in mind but understand, threads have not gained closure until I've had my say.
Bringing up good ancient threads is okay. There is no harm in re-reading some good thing.
But if you bring up some deservedly-buried ones, how dare you!
( Just kidding.)

She's over with you!
She doesn't call anymore!
Hasn't called in over THREE YEARS!
It's over! Just accept it!
Is that closure enough?
