Ben was interviewed in the Sunday Times 'culture ' mag last Sunday,19 July, just a snippet on the Freddie biopic saga:
"As for the far future, he is a bit vague on that too, but in fairness, that's because nothing is finalised. Another dionysian thing is on the horizon: a Freddie Mercury biopic. ""A complicated human"" is his assessment, for now".
That's all i'm afraid.
*simply gracious.
I don't see it being anything with watching. Without digging deep and focusing upon Freddie's lifestyle I really don't see a film.
Sorry. But his life is inseparable from his art. And I don't mean John Deacon. (*sorry, John)
They could however throw a ton of bombast and keep it interesting but who really knows. A decade or two in 120 minutes tops?
Good luck.
I think an authoritative documentary like TDOOL is cool enough but cursory enough.
If it were a family biopic it would be very difficult to capture the issues
RAY was a good example of a biopic. But that had the participation of Ray Charles himself. And to be sure, Ray didn't have the drastic changes in style (excepting orchestral backing).
Others had posted leaked info recently about the project. I wonder what the working script is like.
