The new bits seems coming by a Fan Convention. Who knows where? |

"Queen Face it alone (Different mix)" This fills me with the same excitement as finding as finding brown streaks in my pants after a night getting drunk. |
zippo112 06.07.2015 16:00 |
what do you mean exactly? |
Kacio 06.07.2015 16:08 |
can anybody send this version Face It Alone started on this video 1:14? |
Claudio_CQI 06.07.2015 16:08 |
I guess he means he's not surprised at all... |

Thanks very much. Never heard that "new " section before and it is always fantastic listening to new sung lyrics/melodies by Freddie. |
agrasso 06.07.2015 17:17 |
Thank you, but can you also make available just the "new" bit without the "old" one? |
Mr.QueenFan 06.07.2015 17:25 |
Thank you zippo112. I don't think i have ever heard the version with the lyrics, so i really appreciate what you have donne here. We can get a glimpse of how the end result would be. The instrumental on this track is just beautiful and i can see how this song could end up being one of the most emotional Queen songs ever - right there with "Mother Love". Thank you for sharing this. |
musicland munich 06.07.2015 18:28 |
Ah that's nice. Thank you for sharing this :) I guess that there are no multi tracks available, right ? |
The Real Wizard 06.07.2015 19:05 |
That short new section is more interesting than the other 4 minutes for sure. Where'd this come from? Would love to hear this version on its own. What's the point of merging it in with the old version when it exists in its own right? |
BETA215 07.07.2015 01:38 |
I appreciate your efforts in making a new mix of the song with the new bit, but maybe it's better to hear the whole recording of that outtake of the song, and then let the community make his own remix or enjoy his own musicality. Maybe making it more interesting even. And to musicland Munich, I don't think there's a multitrack available. The source of this recording maybe it's a fan club convention, or well some collector that didn't wanted his things out but a copy for his buddy. Imagine if they keep that version into keys, how they would keep the multitracks, if they have 'em. |

Now I understand why the song's called Face It Alone. :-) |
miraclesteinway 07.07.2015 03:54 |
I can see why this song never made it to final vinyl, it's not their best work. It's interesting as a demo because fans want to hear anything Freddie recorded that they might have missed, but as a song it doesn't sound like it would ever have worked well. I realise I'm being a total bitch here, but Innuendo was a very strong album with some excellent tracks on it, and this doesn't seem to fit. I know it's a rough demo, but I'm listening beyond that |
Viper 07.07.2015 04:06 |
interesting... very!... |

I've EQ'd the song just to make it more listenable. Straight from the audio streaming with no conversion. Here's the download link: link |

I don't think a lot people fully appreciate what we have here. Up until now there have been four versions of Face It Alone out there. Two recorded at the 2006 Dutch Convention, one studio demo and one guitar demo. There are several other versions circulating, but all of these are simply edits/mash ups of these original four versions. The middle part of this track is a totally different recording withthe lyrics far more developed than anything we have heard before. It certainly sounds like a convention recording to me. So why is this so exciting? Because the only other convention that this song was played at was the in the UK in 2001. Up until now there has been no known recording of that convention. This recording means that not only do we have another snippet of Face It Alone, but that there is possibly a recording of this convention out there. I for one would love to know if there is more to be heard. |
Martin Packer 07.07.2015 06:50 |
I'm just thinking how far ALL the versions are from being something that can be woven into a worthwhile song. But just because this is all we've heard doesn't mean this is all there is. I don't think this sounds like something one of them walked into the studio with; It's too much of a rambling jam. |

But the reality is - 99 times out of 100, there's a good reason why a band stops working on a song - it's not good enough. |

Judging by the amount of crowd noise on the "new" section, it's undoubtedly from the UK Convention. It always beggered my belief that there were 2000 people in the hall with many taking not a blind bit of interest to music they've never heard before, instead chatting all the way through. Utter ignorance and damned annoying for the rest of us who WERE interested! "THANK YOU" to the taper. Any chance of the rest of the recording please? |

But you can see the same attitude on Official Fan Club FB group. I once saw a comment like "I saw Freddy in Germany on tour in 1987". Most people over there love Body Language and can't see much difference between Budapest and Wembley. That's what I've noticed anyway. I believe these are the same people who would chat during an unheard demo which they probably are not aware that it's actually unheard and not available on the internet. Indeed, thanks to the taper. Hope there's more coming. |

I can clearly see the potential of this song. The backing track is very beautiful. |

It is much better than some songs of The Miracle album |
Stelios 07.07.2015 17:35 |
Face It Alone is an interesting case. It has a lot of potential and its already including some wonderfull melodies from Freddie and Brian. However the tempo and the mood of the track showcases that it would be very demanding to have a marketable polished track for Queen standards. Its a bit of ubstract piece of art in my opinion and those one needs extra care and work. Then they really stick out as gems. If not they go downhill, leaving the listener guessing where what they hear was "supposed to go". Loaded with vibes but soon loosing momentum and ending up simply boring, is another possibillity also. |

Your life is your own , you are in charge of your debt (faith?) Master of your own In the end In the end You have to face it alone |

^^^Somehow the theme reminds me of his quote "In the end, all the mistakes and all the excuses are down to me." |

Thanks for sharing this new snippet. Beautifully sung by Freddie. I've played it about 10 times in a row. To me it's as exciting as Let Me In Your Heart Again. Thanks to the original taper as well without whom etc... etc... |

Face it Alone is very interisting track, i understand why they decided not to pick it for the album, but i like the tracks with long guitar orchestrations, like Delilah and Last Horizon. If you ask me, Brian May should have adopt that style over the "standard rock song" in his albums. Imagine a 50 min. guitar symphony by Brian May... ...of course it won't be for everybody but i think it'll be much appreciated not only by Queen fans but for music fans in general. |
