The audio is also improved. Thanks to Raffy for working on it! Thanks Chief & Antiden, it has been a pleasure to work with you guys ;) Maybe we can extend our collaboration by working on Rio First Night (unofficial bits of the concert). My copy is pretty unwatchable/unlistenable but maybe someone has a better source so we can use that as a starting point if you like ;) Never managed to put my hands on Canal 13 broadcast (link, does anyone have that? |

In my opinion they're quite similar. I mean, even if Chief version seems to have a little bit less detail, it looks better to my eyes than the Merqry one. But, I repeat, this is MY opinion. Maybe someone more expert can also contradict me. |

But, I repeat, this is MY opinion. Maybe someone more expert can also contradict me. His version was taken from a lower generation source - it has a more natural look, especially the faces and closeups while this version has slightly more of a VHS look. But his video is darker and much softer. I wouldn't say this version is better, but it's proper no logo and thus a good alternative. |

Maybe Queen never releases all the shows they have, but if we put all the efforts and good will together, we can make a great Queen collection. QueenZone isn't dead, it's just badly administrated. And no one will stop us - excepting Richard trying to pay the bills of the hosting. :P |

Belated thanks for this lads. Another step closer to a decent Hyde Park, which has been my holy grail for about 30 years.. I remember seeing some screen shots a few years ago of a later QTV version someone had taped at one of the conventions. It looked really good & the qtv logo wasn't in capital letters. I don't remember there being a timecode either.. I wonder if thats the same source as Ghostwithasmiles copy.. And if it'll ever see the light of day. Anyway in the meantime, many thanks for this. |

MackMantilla wrote:It's undoubtedly a quality upgrade, but some of the different angles are actually from different parts of the song/show. The clip of Roger at the beginning is not from the same part of the song, and at :10 and :30 it's actually the same footage for two different choruses. You can see Mercury's hand movements are different at :10. And the footage of the audience is just arbitrarily recycled from other parts of the show. Bizarre creative choices for edits there.Chief Mouse wrote:Here's a comparison sample: linkMackMantilla wrote: Chief, I have a 45 mins version of Sao Paulo 1981 with better quality tan the average copies. Maybe you could work on it? Please let me know. Can you send me a VOB sample first? Thanks. But I wouldn't be so quick to make a merge of two versions without carefully watching to see if the re-broadcast is actually using the right footage at all times (I spotted three problems in 30 seconds). If anything, I'd say only the angles that match the original broadcast are worth using for a merge. I have this 45 minute version on VHS, but this copy looks like it's at least as good as mine. With the above thoughts in mind, there's still plenty to work with here. Looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition ! |

QueenAllTheWayfromTexas wrote: Is there a possibility I could download this, but in MP4 format? Since After Effects doesn't support MKV files, I wanted to do a color correction (or even a stabilization test) on the entire show.1) Install ffmpeg for your OS if you don't have it yet 2) Run this command, of course replace input.mkv and output.mp4 with real file names ffmpeg -i input.mkv -vcodec copy -acodec copy output.mp4 This takes the streams from the mkv file and put them to a mp4 container |

Or extract the streams with MKVExtractGUI2, get "My MP4Box GUI" and package the streams as MP4. |
