Further sell out. |

Roger and Brian meet with Jim Beach: "Let's see, We could release a DVD or Blu Ray of an unreleased concert. Or we could release a DVD or Blu Ray of all of their music videos remastered in their proper aspect ratios with HD sound. Or how about releasing our catalog in high resolution audio. Or e some of the rarities in their vaults. Nah. Let's not do any of that. What the fans really want is for us to attach our name to some wine, hot sauce and lager. Yeah, the fans will go wild over that! |
The King Of Rhye 24.06.2015 21:06 |
Yeah, kevin, they had KQ Vodka come out last year, and that obviously prevented them from releasing any good concert stuff.........oh wait..... |
Lplix 25.06.2015 04:52 |
well, after the vodka, beer ... QP seeks the favor of AA ........ Or perhaps, stunning fans with alcohol, hope they do not think to other releases in cd or dvd ..... |
kevin79 25.06.2015 05:30 |
Yeah, they gave us the two Rainbow concerts last year. And as amazing a release as that was, you have to go back ten years before that for their last new concert release with the Milton Keynes concert. I'm not saying that I expect them to release everything. But TEN YEARS between those two completely new releases. But in a year, they've approved a vodka, beer and hot sauce. Instead of selling the band's name out like that, I wish they'd concentrate on the music. Heck, a Queen + Adam Lambert DVD/Blu Ray release announcement would excite me more than Hot Space hot sauce. |

I'm normally sensitive to that whole 'sell out' accusation but, in the case of QUEEN, anywhere and everywhere I see their name, it makes me happy. I suppose it'd be different if I heard constant, shitty cover versions of their songs popping up in ads everywhere, but that doesn't seem to be the case - at least not in the U.S.A. Gimmie more QUEEN. I'm good. |
matt z 25.06.2015 08:02 |
^ shitty cover versions have appeared on American Idol and THE VOICE. Anyways. After hearing this news. .. I'm certain Gene Simmons is rolling in his grave |

Good for them. More money. Why not? I would've done the same. If you don't like it, don't buy it. |
Fat Bottomed Queen 25.06.2015 13:39 |
Wonder if its feels amazing to drink it and leaves you in a world of mystery... Oh and, they need "Don't try suicide" pills. |

I do not think anybody understands their intentions behind each release. Queen get approached by 10 times as many companies trying to get Queens name attached, but they are very picky about who they choose. Its not just for another sell out, but look at what they are releasing, Vodka, Red Wine, and now lager (probably German in origin), hot sauce, I bet you next it's some Earl Grey Tea set based on the 2nd Queen album or something. They are all items Freddie enjoyed, it is all meant to be a tribute to Freddie by sharing with fans things he consumed. I like it really, also it does raise some extra cash for forthcoming releases, Queen hardly make any money from the condiments..... |

Greg Brookes and Richard Gray respectively are well past their sell by date in terms of factual accuracy and creativity, and then the audio team managed to remix Live at the Bowl from the multitracks and end up with a massively worse drum sound than my original TV broadcast 25 year old third generation VHS tape!! Loyal yes, but not picky.... |

What's even worse is that you're contradicting yourself within asingle sentence ("it does raise some extra cash" ... "hardly make any money"). The band isn't short on cash, considering that Roger could afford to release his own vanity project a few years ago. It's not like he made a "lot"of cash with it. |

Hmm. ..Queen condoms. .... Would've thought they'd done that in Kiev. I saw plenty condom phalluses. Btw... never heard of the wine. I heard about Killer Queen vodka however |

For real this time. Has anybody here actually drunk the beer yet? Is it even good? What are some comparable brands? I'd been thinking of ordering a case just to celebrate a new job. I'm wondering if it'd be worth it? Sadly exports to the USA don't get the additional coasters |
Holly2003 17.11.2015 13:13 |
It's got a very odd taste for a lager. It tastes more like a darker real ale or maybe something like Smithwicks rather than a light lager such as Fosters of Bud. Not bad, but a bit if an acquired taste. 1/24 gone so far, and I'm sure I will make a dent in the rest over the holidays. They also sent me 6 Queen-branded beer mats and 4 cardboard beer carriers. I bought the Millionaires Waltz wine (made in Argentina) from the same website but haven't tried it yet. On a related subject, the Iron Maiden Trooper beer is tasty. It;s been really successful and they've made a stronger version called 666. They've also released a lot more beer-related merchandise than Queen have, but maybe that will change if Bohemian Lager is successful. It is made in the Czech republic but was shipped to me for a reasonable p&p charge from the UK. However, I think for it to be as successful as the Iron Maiden beers they will need to make it more readily available instead of just by mail order. I bought some Iron Maiden beer in a local shop and it;s available on draught in pubs; Bohemian Lager isn't (yet). |
alberbal12 17.11.2015 15:24 |
Anyone knows how to buy it except from rnrdrinks? I wanna a pack but i cannot pay 33 pounds for a sending to Spain. Thanks in advance. |
Costa86 18.11.2015 07:34 |
£36 for a pack of 24 330ml bottles seems a bit steep. The equivalent in Guinness would cost £21.60 from the Co-Op where I buy my beer. I understand that they're not as mass-produced as Guinness (so they're bound to cost more because of a smaller economy of scale), and that they're a sort of special item because they're Queen branded and made for an anniversary. But not £14.40 more than Guinness for what is basically an average beer with a Queen sticker on it. |

Sometimes you have to enjoy life a little, and spend a bit more to get what you want :) |
matt z 18.11.2015 17:48 |
So. ... Never had a smithwicks. I'm guessing it's more of an Amber? Something close to a light IPA? Or is it simply bold and close to a stout like Guinness? |
Holly2003 20.11.2015 06:15 |
Too hard to talk about the taste of beers so you may as well try it yourself: Queen - Bohemian Lager - Now in the USA! Enjoy a real Bohemian in the USA! More details @ link :) :) :) |

Pain in the ass! I can't get even a local distributor to stock the stuff or carry it somewhere without a liquor license. No wholesale and no purchasing state side as far as I've tried. Three calls later and nothing... "We don't deal with the public" How the fuck is anybody supposed to buy this damn beer except internationally? |
