I've no idea.
Why is it important? (I must admit that I don't understand Spotify, it seems to be a way to use up your mobile data connection to listen to low quality streams of songs you could hold in FLAC on your phone. Which is great for the networks and ok for the artist, but pretty bad for the end user.)
PG, it is very convenient if you need large playlists for parties or the like. Also, if you like to discover new music often it can be a good option. As for the listening device, apart from the cell phone, often linked to a good speaker, I use Sonos devices around the house.

Spotify's great when there's simply too much music you want to be able to listen to to actually fit on your device at one time.
well, it's convenient in all the ways, and there're high-quality option and available-offline option for premium subscribers (like me and a lot of my friends) so it's really not that bad. :) i hope brian's stuff will come back soon...
actually, i think for a couple years i've been listening to queen (studio) songs mostly on spotify (even though i have them on itunes and in flac for that matter). i guess spotify is just so convenient that it becomes a habit for a lot of people? i got annoyed when last year taylor swift pulled all her albums from there (sue me, i like pop music lol).
Hey, peopleonthestreets, I'm sorry if I did not make myself clear. :)
I'm glad you had a laugh, though. :)
What I said is that I listen to music from my cell phone via good speakers in general. THEN I said that I also listen to them through the Sonos devices around the house. :)
I said that "...As for the listening device, APART from the cell phone, ... I use Sonos devices around the house".
With that what I meant was that the cell phone is not the output device I use, those being good speakers, but certainly not HIFI ones, which I do not own, just plain JBL and Bose regular ones. That was just a quick post, but I meant that these speakers are better than the cell phone speakers, which is obvious for most speakers. THAN I mentioned the Sonos devices, used APART from those. And I quite like them, you know? For my listening pleasure the various SONOS devices I have, some standalone and some linked to Sony speakers do their job quite ok. I am not an audiophile anyway. :)

You can download songs/playlists over WiFi.
You can choose different levels of quality, the Extreme Quality is really good.
I love Spotify, haven't played a CD in years ... and you have it with you everywhere you go on your phone.
You can also subscribe to other peoples' playlists, and discover new music.
If you only like one song from an album, you don't have to buy the whole thing.
But I admit, I sometimes miss the feeling of setting a world record on my bicycle from the record store to my home, to put on a new CD.
