Hey everybody, just wanted to inform all the lovely people here that German TV Station "Servus TV" will air an one-hour documentary about Rudi on the 11th of June. They say that it will focus mainly on his relationship with Queen and that he will open his archive for some exclusive and never been seen footage. Sounds quite interesting. cheers link |
Costa86 27.05.2015 08:57 |
Would be wonderful if someone could record and put in on YouTube after it airs. Although it would be in German and without subs... but I'm sure many are curious to see what never-before-seen footage he will show. |
cmsdrums 27.05.2015 10:12 |
Excellent - we may get to see some snippets of the 'Don't Try So Hard' promo video....... |
musicland munich 27.05.2015 11:11 |
^ Ta, maybe he's trying to safe his reputation there ( or what's left of it) |
BETA215 27.05.2015 11:35 |
I hope the 'never seen footage' isn't from Days Of Our Lives or Magic Years. |
pittrek 27.05.2015 13:03 |
Das klingt ganz gut |
mooghead 27.05.2015 15:58 |
There will be no unseen footage of Queen or their videos unless Queen say so so sit down.... |
Kuijpy 27.05.2015 16:49 |
I think we see Freddie @ Wembley and something from Innuendo. I would really like to see the whole 'These are the days' interview recorded at the set |
The Ghost of Lester Burnham 27.05.2015 18:08 |
Is it a cut-and-paste job, with shots of Rudi from Queen video shoots? |
The Fairy King 28.05.2015 06:02 |
I assume the documentary isn't a DoRo production...so there's hope we will see new stuff. |
martin S 28.05.2015 06:12 |
It is a production by the mentioned TV Station and not by DoRo. We shouldn't be so hard on Rudi. It was him who presented the new footage of Freddies Birthday and the behind the scenes rushes of DOOL in the 40 Jahre Queen Documentary. |

This should be interesting. Hope they don't use some of the unseen footage that we've already seen. |

just saw it ... nothing new next week the next episode of "Backstage" will be shown (again with Queen snippets) |
FinalDestination 28.05.2015 16:27 |
Hello everybody, here you can watch the first episode. I haven't seen it all.....but as much as I have heard the interesting stuff is at 43:08 and yeah.....it is more or less a new recap of the things we have heard in the 40 years show (german) maybe a little more detail. link maybe someone will be able to convert that to something useable...since I am sadly not able to do that. I can try to make a translation if you like.........probably it will be a raw one...since I am sure some vocabulary will be missing..... on a sidenote Rudi says again that Tatdool was the last time that FM was in front of a camera........ cheeers |
BETA215 28.05.2015 20:26 |
I told you: more of the same in terms of footage. To me is bad news, I mean: I would love to to see new footage, but it smelt like the same shit. |
kosimodo 28.05.2015 22:41 |
I am gonna watch the link later.. I was always interested in how did they end up with those guys... |

Ok, I've watches that particular minutes where Rudi talked about Freddie's last film moments. In general .- there is nothing new - just some more details like Jim Beach called him a few days before the shooting and ask Rudi not to film too many takes because of Freddie's condition. So they hoped he could made it trough the three days that were planned for TATDOOL. Rudi also mentioned an disturbing fact about Freddie's feet. He( Rudi) wasn't able to make a clear point in time about the cutting process of TATDOOL, maybe weeks or month after the filming. |

Didn't he also say that Freddie (or somebody else) wanted another take on the last shot of the video? The one where he looks at the camera and says 'I still love you'. I can't understand a word of German, so I might be well off. |
Costa86 29.05.2015 05:28 |
Rudi hasn't aged much - he doesn't even look that much different than he did in 1991. Anyway - it would be great to have some bits translated! |
Sunshine 29.05.2015 07:31 |
Nice documentary. Rudi told about the shooting of TATDOOL and that Jim Beach contacted him a few days beforehand to ask not too demand too much from Freddie because 'he was doing not that well'. Everyone at the shoot saw and knew there was something terribly wrong with Freddie and Rudi suspected it was AIDS. As Jim Beach requested, Rudi gave his OK for the take of the last shot of TATDOOL but Freddie insisted he wanted to do another take despite his horrible condition and Rudi saw he was suffering enormously. Freddie did the last take and created the last shot that shows still the twinkle in his eye. Rudi said he knew he it was the last piece of him on film. Rudi said that he saw there the human Freddie Mercury and has a lot of respect for his will to carry on. |
martin S 29.05.2015 10:30 |
And at least we got some new snippets from the DOOL shoot. |

I 'll take it as his personal memorys. |
