Apologies if this idea has been posted before. I feel there's a good chance it has but I couldn't find it. I wondered had Freddie not become ill and Queen had continued to tour what sort of set list you think the band might have offered while touring The Miracle or Innuendo. Go with the songs on those albums even though some may not have been created without Fred's illness. Here's my suggestion for The Miracle Tour to get you started... 1 Breakthru (vocal intro played over PA then band enters stage to play live) 2 Tie Your Mother Down (straight into classic Queen rock – aaah, reassuring) 3 I Want It All (the recent big hit) 4 Somebody to love (it’s back where it belongs) 5 A Kind Of Magic 6 The Invisible Man 7 Another One Bites The Dust (followed by Freddie vs the audience vocal) 8 The Miracle 9 Under Pressure 10 I Want To Break Free 11 Impromptu vocal & Instr. (incorporating Hang On In There) 12 Guitar solo, 13 Now I'm Here, 14 Love Of My Life 15 Is This The World We Created 16 His Latest Flame (or other Elvis cover/Tutti Frutti (or other fun old r'n'r song) 17 Party (abbreviated) 18 Bohemian Rhapsody 19 Hammer To Fall, 20 Crazy Little Thing Called Love, 21 Radio Ga Ga 22 One Vision 23 We Will Rock You, 24 We Are The Champions, 25 God Save The Queen |

I would: -Remove from your list: Breakthru Party The Invisible Man -Add to your list: The Show Must Go On (sung in the style Elton John did in 1992 & 1997) Scandal These Are the Days of Our Lives (great crowd reaction when Freddie says 'I still love you' at the end) Headlong (maybe - not my fave) |

It's been done a few times I'm sure. I just remember the last. And it was ONLY for the MIRACLE in one instance, then there was someone who wished for a fictitious innuendo Tour set as well. Meh. Incorporating BOTH albums? As if somehow there were somehow a last minute medical MIRACLE? That means that an INNUENDO opener would nix PARTY from the set. (Weak song but great opener) .... I'm at a loss for suggestions. Many of the songs from INNUENDO would be hard to perform live time and time again. Some (IGSM) just wouldn't fit the LIVE setting of a large concert very well. But then again. ... this is coming from a band that actually performed weak stuff like BODY LANGUAGE and STAYING POWER live. As long as it included BIJOU somewhere it'd be cool. Of course, it makes sense that much of the material would have never been possible without the horrible circumstances surrounding the band. So it's all a paradox. |

-Innuendo drum roll- Tie Your Mother Down Headlong The Miracle Somebody to Love A Kind of Magic -Vocal Improv- Under Pressure Another One Bites The Dust I Want To Break Free -Impromptu- Guitar Solo (opens with Chinese Torture, also includes Bijou with Freddie at the end) Now I'm Here These Are The Days Of Our Lives Love Of My Life Hammer To Fall Crazy Little Thing Called Love Bohemian Rhapsody Innuendo I Want It All Radio Ga Ga We Will Rock You We Are The Champions The Show Must Go On God Save The Queen Rough running time per show: 112 minutes The big hits: Check Live staples: Check Structure mainly inspired by Magic Tour. Somebody to Love returns. Show Must Go On thrown in at the very end just like Friends Will Be Friends to shake up the formula. Is This The World We Created replaced by Days in the acoustic set. The Miracle acts as a piano song early in the set similar to Play The Game. Set is otherwise light on piano (which is probably how it would have played out). No Medley at all Following the trend of barely reintroducing old material as time goes on |

I had it listed before Radio Ga Ga as an opener for a first encore but while I think it would be a great live song I don't think it would last longer than a tour supporting mainly The Miracle. I Want It All however is clearly a favorite with Brian and Roger and a more obvious song to keep in the set. |

*goodco* wrote: This topic generally comes up every 3-4 months, so here's just a few of the dozens from qzones past from a simple 'queen innuendo tour' search link and link and link and link and link and link and link ........Thanks for posting this. For some reason I find myself more interested in what the Miracle tour would have been like as the songs weren't as strong on that album as they were on Innuendo. I'm convinced the vocal intro to Breakthru would have been an awesome opener and a much beefier rock sound would have made this track a perfect start to a great concert. I Want It All would of course have been terrific but The Invisible Man? Phew, that's a hard sell to make that sound fun on stage, it's just not a great track. I prefer Scandal but given that both Roger and Brian have both expressed a lack of enthusiasm for it I can't see it having been performed live. Party isn't a great track but a live version would have been a great jam I think. Would have worked well live as a fiddly into to Bo Rhap, the way Mustapha used to do. I'm pretty sure The Miracle would have been performed live (Brian loves it!?) but I'm not convinced it would have been that popular with the audience. It's very schmaltzy. I doubt any of the other tracks would have been performed, even Was It All Worth It. It's too complicated and I don't know where it would fit in with all the other more popular rock songs that they'fd have to get through. Someone else mentioned Save Me - one of the best live songs they ever did but sadly it didn't survive the Hot Space tour so I don't think it would have appeared on The Miracle Tour. |

I did something like this a few years ago, and found (through the magic of Google) what I had done... but I'm going to revise it a bit. That being said, I'm pretty sure something along these lines would have killed Freddie, so I'm assuming only a Miracle tour, not an Innuendo tour. Chinese Torture (tape) Breakthru (intro tape) Breakthru Khashoggi’s Ship Tie Your Mother Down Somebody To Love I Want It All A Kind Of Magic Freddie/audience vocal duel Under Pressure Another One Bites The Dust The Invisible Man (alternates with Hijack My Heart, depending on the night) I Want To Break Free Scandal Guitar Solo Now I'm Here Love Of My Life Is This The World We Created…? It would be quite interesting if Queen felt they might still collectively be able to pull off two shows in 88 or 89. |

Yeah I remember this fictional setlist having been done earlier, but this got me thinking... now that they've got a fairly capable lead singer to do some shows with, why not do some more stuff from 1989 onwards with him? I'd be perfectly happy if they dropped some basic stuff like Stone Cold Crazy (sounds a bit tired to me now), Fat Bottomed Girls, I Want To Break Free and perhaps even Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and instead play something like The Miracle, Was It All Worth It, I Can't Live With You and Let Me Live. Maybe even No-One But You. No, wait... imagine AL singing C-Lebrity. XD |

No-One But You would go nicely in the acoustic section of the Q+AL shows as a duet between Brian and Roger. |

Stone Cold Crazy totally rocks with Adam. One of the highlights of the setlist. Agree with Break Free, Crazy Little Thing and Fat Girls though. How many times can you listen to the same bloody song?!? Unfortunately, they play to the "general public" who would be seriously distressed not having heard the aforementioned titles during a show. |

But yeah gotta be grateful they change the setlist each tour. That was the primary reason I stopped attending Black Sabbath concerts (with ozzy) ... same 13 or 15 songs. Having practically written "the bible on heavy rock/doom music) playing that same setlist was pitiful. A pitiful reminder of Ozzy's state of being, laziness and Sharon 's greed. Not ONCE until this recent Tour did they play anything remotely different than that set. It was infuriating. Thank God DIO rejoined Iommi, Butler, and Appice |

Okay heres mine. The goal is to have a mix of their biggest hits, their classics and their new songs. I got very tempted to add Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, But the setlist Couldn't be too massive. It does have Ogre Battle, However. *Procession* 1.Tie Your Mother Down 2.The Invisible Man 3.Party 4.Khashoggi's Ship 5.One Vision 6.A Kind Of Magic 7.I Want It All 8.Breakthru 9.Gimme The Prize 10.Who Wants To Live Forever? 11.These Are The Days Of Our Lifes 12.Delilah 13.Another One Bites The Dust 14.I Want To Break Free 15.Radio Gaga 16.Under Pressure 17.Love Of My Life 18.Somebody To Love *Vocal Impromptu(Day-Oh/The Prophet's Song)* 19.Brighton Rock Solo 20.Killer Queen 21.Ogre Battle 22.Now I'm Here 23.Seven Seas Of Rhye 24.Keep Yourself Alive 25.We Will Rock You 26.We Are The Champiions 27.Bohemian Rhapsody ENCORE: 28.In The Lap Of The Gods... Revisited 29.Don't Try So Hard 30.The Show Must Go On 31.God Save The Queen I would of liked to Include Innuendo but the stage adaption of that would be hard as fuck and maybe Impossible. I am aware that there are too many songs, I am picky. Maybe somebody could help me narrow down this list to 25? PS. I wonder how epic TSMGO would sound? Freddie's voice was very clean during this era. |

I think from Innuendo they would play a part of Innuendo - perhaps breaking it up between one or two other songs, not doing the acoustic flamenco section, and they'd do Headlong and Show Must Go On. They may do Days of Our Lives. From Miracle they'd do I want it all, part of Breakthru, and perhaps either Was It All Worth It or The Miracle - but although The Miracle sounds good on record, I can't imagine it translating well to a live scenario. I don't know why. I would assume in this fantasy set list that we don't have anything from Made In Heaven, - no Mother Love, and no Let Me Live, because Mother Love was completely about facing death, and Let Me Live was pieced together from scraps. You Don't Fool Me was also like that, and they wouldn't have need to incorporate Freddie's solo material either. They would do some of their classic biggest hits. I wonder if they had continued over the past 24 years with Freddie, would they have come up with some more chart-busters, or would they fall off the perch and become a band of has-beens? I can't answer that with any degree of accuracy, but it's an interesting thought. I know some on this forum would argue that with Adam Lambert fronting them, they have indeed become that band of has-beens, but that's not what this particular thread is about ;-) xxx |
